Ayy, all you great people, I'm back! If you haven't heard about my new project I want to pursue, and I told myself that I wouldn't start until I've finished both this story, and my Soul Eater one. So... here's the next chap-chap!
~Narrator POV~
You, Natsu, and Erza stood in the front of the Fairy Tail Guild Hall, the tension in the air still never faltering. You stood in front of Erza, next to Natsu, and waited for her demands. A soft wind blew over you, making the bright orange and pink sky seem like a wavering flame.
"(Y/n), you can't continue to remain here." Erza stated bluntly, eyes sharp and cold, so it was obvious the that the last thing she was doing was joking.
Natsu's eyes widened as a gasp escaped his lips, as you just continued to look at Erza. You knew she was right, and you didn't want to argue with her. By staying there in Magnolia, you were endangering Fairy Tail, and in fact, the entire town itself. There was only one place that would assure that Daylin wouldn't be able to go after you, or harm any of the innocent.
You nodded. "I understand. Do it, Erza." You stood straight and proud, holding Erza's tough gaze with your own.
Natsu didn't seem to be deciphering any of the current events, as he glared to Erza, flames engulfing his fists. "Erza! Tell me what's going on! What're you gonna do, and why can't she stay? This doesn't make any sense!" He argued.
Erza summoned on of her swords, her fearless expression never shifting, as she extended the blade out towards you. "Natsu, she can't stay because she's a threat to Fiore, and even herself. The only way to ensure that she is safe, and the world, is to—"
"No! It isn't! Erza, you even said it yourself that (Y/n) was like a little sister to you! Are you really gonna kill her just for the sake of Magnolia? There's gotta be a way around it!" Natsu growled, stepping in front of you, gripping the blade of the sword with his flames, attempting to melt it.
"Yes, Natsu, I would. She even agrees. If she's gone, then millions of people will be spared." Erza paused, shaking Natsu's hand off the blade, her harsh gaze intensifying. "Now, get out of the way, Natsu.. or I'll have to kill you, too." She spat, a shadow casting over her eyes.
"Erza, stop! This isn't like you!" Natsu continued to plead towards Erza, a hurt expression in his eyes. He had never seen Erza so ruthless. He had always known her for being strong, but she was also compassionate. She would never kill a Guild Member like this.
"Natsu, cut it out." You interjected, placing a hand on his shoulder from behind him. "This is the quickest way, and.. we don't have much time until Daylin tries to—"
Suddenly, there was a large rumbling, and a huge amount of magic energy was exposed to the air. You, Natsu, and Erza all whipped around to face the pursuer, only to be set into a mental shock at the sight.
In front of them was a wreathing, snarling, pulsing chimera. It stood at six feet tall, and had gallons of dark magic spewing from it's morphing form. It had the head of a lion, the horns of a ram, and the eyes of a snake, forked tongue and all. It's body was made up of artificial flesh, as it slowly faded to a fur at the hips and then down to scaled lizard legs. It's tail was that of an iguana, meaning it be both powerful, and vulnerable.
"Wh...What is that thing?" You wretched, cupping your hands over your mouth as you store up into the intimidating yellow eyes of the chimera.
Just then, Daylin stepped out from behind the creature, arms folded behind his back as he had a smug grin across his cheeks. "This is my masterpiece of a creation. He is one of the first, successfully made, functioning chimera without the use of pure magic. Now.. there's only one element missing. And I'm pretty sure you know what it is, don't you, Miss (L/n)?" He quizzed, taking a step forwards, his coat tails flowing freely behind him due to the increased breeze from before.
You hesitantly took a step back, dropping your arms down to your sides. "Erza, you have to do it, now! Please!" You pleaded, begging towards the red-headed mage to end the risk of Daylin gaining your magic energy.
Natsu then flashed a fiery gaze towards Erza, now both of his fists lighting up in flames, a large, red magic circle rotating under him. "Erza, don't you dare kill her. I'm gonna take this bastard down, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!" He roared, jolting off towards the chimera, launching himself into their air and round-house kicking him in the face; of course triggering a minor explosion due to the force brought on by Natsu's impact.
Daylin, now irritated at having his creation knocked down so easily, activated his own magic, two purple magic circles forming around his arms. "Well then... While Salamander is dealing with my chimera.. How about me and you, Red?" He taunted, a widening smirk plastered to his features.
Erza summoned a second sword, and took an offensive stance. "Let's dance." She jeered, trusting towards the man dressed in velvet.
You watched as your two friends fought against your attackers, as you just stood there. You didn't know what to do. If you used your magic, then the chimera would just absorb it, rendering you even more useless. You had to think... what could you do that didn't involve using magic? You suddenly had an idea.
You had seen Daylin designing this creature, so you know all it's flaws. Of course, he may have fixed them, but it was worth a shot. Besides... if it meant that you could help Natsu.
You ran over, and held out a hand. You only had one shot.
Ha ha! I did it! After oh, so long! I at last have completed another chapter! I hope you enjoyed, and look forward to more frequent updates until completion! Biee!
