Just as I thought everything was peaceful, a fight broke out in the cafeteria. And the two people fighting weren't who I was expecting them to be.
The only thing I really heard of their argument was;
"Come back here, you fun-sized candy bar bastard! I hope your mom beats the shit out of you with a damn hammer or something. Oh wait! She already has! You're a fucking joke, Seo Changbin! You're nothing without me!"
And that's when all hell broke loose.
Felix, that freckled guy from The Dogz, tried to hold back Changbin, the shorter, longer-faced one as much as he could, but the rage that was plastered on his face and trapped in his body was too much for Felix to hold back. He ended up getting loose from the other's grasp. By this time, I was standing up and looking onwards, surprised that Hwang Hyunjin and this Changbin guy, who seemed really close, were going to go at it.
The whole time this was happening, Hyunjin was unfazed. His eyes were narrowed and he had the nastiest, scariest look on his face I'd ever seen. He looked like he was going to beat the shit out of Changbin.
Soon enough, both of them collided and Changbin was the first to throw a punch, right at Hyunjin's face. Fortunately, or unfortunately because of how confused I am about my feelings toward him, the other managed to dodge and catch the shorter off guard by throwing a swing at his gut. It hit him and he doubled over, grasping his stomach. But just as Hyunjin had taken Changbin off guard, he was taken off guard by Felix. The freckled boy grabbed Hyunjin's shoulder, turned him around so that they were facing, gave a very quick and sarcastic smile, before punching him straight in the nose. A loud crack could be heard and the crowd of students, including myself, all went; "Ooh.."
It was entertaining to watch, but looked painful as fuck.
Hyunjin was now on the ground, blood dripping from his nose into his mouth and then dripping onto the floor from there. It was a horrible sight to see, regardless of how I felt about him. Just then, two others jogged in, wearing the same leather jackets. I knew I saw them on the bus hanging out with them, so I knew they were also part of The Dogz.
"Oh no.. this is all turning to shit," Chan said and looked away, rubbing his temples.
I pointed to the almost rodent-looking one that had widened eyes and a slightly scared expression on his face.
"Who's that?" I asked Jeongin and the other looked up at me.
"Oh. That's Han Jisung. And that other one is his boyfriend, Lee Minho," he told me and I watched the two.
When I adverted my eyes back to the larger, nastier scene, I saw both Felix and Changbin kicking at Hyunjin, who was on the ground in obvious pain. After a while though, Hwang Hyunjin gave up. He just let it happen, and that's when both of them backed off.
The four of them looked back at Hyunjin and spat on him. Well, all four of them besides Jisung. He was the only one who seemed to give a shit about Hyunjin.
The three of them; Felix, Changbin, and Minho stalked away, not saying a single word to the students crowded around them.
Jisung was crouched beside Hyunjin, trying to shake him awake. But it looked as if he wasn't waking up.
"Can someone h-help me carry him to the nurses office?!" the rodent-looking boy asked, looking into the crowd.
No one volunteered.
Without knowing it, my feet began to move forward and I raised my hand.
"I-I'll help," I said softly before stepping through the crowd. A couple of people gasped, but I wouldn't know why.
Jisung gave me a polite, but sad smile.
"Thank you," he whispered softly and together, we carried the larger male to the nurses office.
Jisung seemed like the only decent person in The Dogz. He wasn't anything like what the others were. He didn't seem violent in any way, shape, or form. He was quite nice to be honest.
We got to the nurses quickly and she told us to sit him on the bed in her office, which we did. She thanked us for bringing him to her and then told me this wasn't his first time in, which didn't surprise me at all, but was news to me.
In the end, Jisung and I decided that I would stay in the nurses office until he woke up, which I was worried about. But Han said he had to keep his grades up, because he had decent grades now, but would easily slip without his attention to them.
Right before he left, he said, "Oh! And I'm Han Jisung... and that's Hwang Hyunjin, probably the nastiest person you'll ever meet." And then he sighed, flashing me another sad smile.
"I'm Kim Seungmin," I said gently, trailing off a little.
"Good luck," was the last thing I heard from him before he walked out and to his class.
