I freeze, and take deep breaths. How did this knife get here? It wasn't here when we pulled up. I look around but see no one coming towards me. I look back down and pick up the knife. I turn it over in my hands. One minute, it's clean. The next, there's thick red blood on it. I immediately drop it and examine my hands. . .there's no blood. I look back down at the knife and shake my head. There's no blood on it anymore.

"Hey, Jordie? You ok?" I hear Jay calling me.
I snap my attention to him and nod. "Yep!" I quickly pick the knife back up and head back to the other side of the ute where the others where. I suddenly feel a jolt. My vision goes black.

   . . .Kill him. . .

   . . .Kill him. . .

   . . .Kill him. . .

"No!" I yell, slamming my hands over my ears, desperately trying to get the voice out of my head. "I won't!" I feel someone tugging on my arm, pulling me away from something. . .Or someone. My vision clears and I realise what I'm doing. I was crouched over Jay, my legs on both of his sides so that he can't escape. The knife in my hand held out, ready to plunge into his chest. My free hand, fingers wrapped around his neck and I was squeezing, cutting off his air.

"No!" I growl. . .But it's not my voice. It was deeper and demonic.

   . . .Kill him. . .

Tears were streaming down my face as I tried desperately to drop the deadly knife that was in my hand. But it wouldn't budge. I can, however, move my hand that was wrapped around Jay's neck. I take it off of him and use it to slam my other arm away. I let out a loud scream and the side of the blade cut along my arm. Jay takes this as a distraction and pushes me off. Much too powerful. I go flying backwards. Then something inside me snaps.

My vision turned to red as I looked at Jay. His outline was a bright yellow, but Mena and Tyler didn't seem to notice it. But I did. How? Against my own will, I began frantically searching for the knife. I find it and quickly dash to it, Jay also doing the same. He reaches it before me and holds it towards me, threateningly. His eyes blazed golden and his hair was as bright as a halo. He seemed to be actually glowing. . .And it was hurting me, burning me. But that didn't stop me. I took a step forwards. He held the knife higher, right where my heart would be.

"Jordan." He says, it wasn't a question. He knew I wasn't in control. Yes I'm here! I'm here! My mind was screaming.

   . . .Kill him. . .

My head painfully jerked to the side, in an unnatural way. My arms twitching by my sides. I then started convulsing and let out a strangled scream. But not my own. I took another step forwards.

"Jordan." He warns. "I don't want to do this. I just need to get that thing out of you. Hang in there. Don't fight." At the last two words, my body jerked forwards. I was now in stabbing range. I wasn't in control. I could see everything in red, but I wasn't looking. The thing inside me was. I let out a strangled cough and raised my hand.

"It's me." The not-me says. It's voice sounding like mine, but deeper and rougher. Don't listen Jay! It's tricking you! I was yelling in my mind.

   . . .Shut up. . .     The voice says.

Jay seems to take the bait. He lowers the knife and that's when I pounce. I knock him over, reaching for the knife in his hand. He swings it and desperately tells me to stop, but it's not me. My teeth become sharp and pointy as I bare them at him.

"Jordan! Please!" He pleads with the not-me. But it doesn't listen. It keeps struggling to get a hold around Jay's neck. Suddenly, I feel a sharp stab in my back. I howl in pain and double off him, rolling onto the ground. I look up to Jay, my vision still red. He is a golden fiery mess. And he was coming closer. The not-me was trying to get away from him.
