It's cold. Very cold.
That's all you think as the snow comes floating down before your eyes. You stare at the frosty flakes as they softly fall down to the ground, to form a snowy white layer on the pavement. The grit hadn't been enough to melt the snow this year, causing the road to cover with a soft blanket.
Waiting on the sidewalk, you feel a vibration in your left pocket, and a small 'ding'. You took out your phone out to see who it was.
SAMMIEBOI
U coming?
INNOCENT.POTATO.1 .
Yeh, waiting 4 hyerin
Putting your phone back in your pocket, you shivered as you watched a small hatchback crawl up the drive, slowing until it was right in front of you. Out of the car popped hyerin, wearing a thick full length denim coat embroidered in a western style. Rubbing her hands together, she motioned for you to come in, and disappeared back inside the hatchback.
It's a weird sort of relationship you and hyerin have. Hyerin was the more confident one, and was always the first of you to go out and make friends. At the age of 17 she already had a 3 year long relationship with one of the most popular guys in school, and here you are, as the childhood friend with a lifelong crush on her.
You weren't jealous though. You were fine being someone close to her, even if it was as the best friend of 15 years. If you were together, and she was still smiling, it didn't matter.
You hopped into the car and slammed the door shut. Turning to smile at you, Hyerin was gorgeous, her hair straightened and her cat eyes emphasised with a thick, bold line of eyeliner. She wore a light black body con dress, which stopped half way down her thighs. Rather than dressing up the outfit, the black vans and long denim coat created a more casual look, which suited Hyerin perfectly.
As she chatted you simply hummed in response, whilst taking small glances at her occasionally in the rear - view mirror.
You couldn't take your eyes of her.
-----------------------------Time skip to the party-------------------------
"Well, see ya" she said, before making her way into the crowd.
You sighed. The only reason you came to the party was because Hyerin had asked you too. And here she was, walking off on you within five seconds of getting through the door. Taking another deep sigh, you walked into the throng, in search of quiet place. You finally found one, near a window, with a small seat.
Clutching your red plastic cup, you watched the snow fall softly from the sky.
Watching the party, for a few minutes, you notice Hyerin walking out with someone. Narrowing your eyes, you peered through the window, curious to see who this guy was. To your relief, it was just her boyfriend, so you turned away to give them some privacy.
Then you heard the noises.
You turned back to see a heated conversation between the two people, when Matthew grabbed hold of her, pinning her to the wall.
That was it. You rushed outside, to see Hyerin shaking in the snow, whilst trying to cover herself up. Mathew stood over her, smirking. "That's right, run back to the side guy." He yelled, then stormed away into the darkness.
I turned back to Hyerin, who had burst into tears. Her sobs echoed into the night, and in an effort to keep her warm I took my jacket off and draped it over her. Sitting down next to her, I leaned her head on my shoulder, incapable of speaking any words to comfort her.
It was just the two of us and a broken heart, sitting in the snow.

Well hello there,
I know this was a depressing one to start of with, but I was really hooked on the "side guy" idea. I'd also like to apologise for the whole cringieness of the situation, but I live for cheese y'all.
Also, this is my first ever piece on Wattpad, so yeah... it may be absolutely rubbish.
Anyways.....
School's in 2 weeks.
And I'm already panicking.
See ya!
