Hey. I'm Millie. The new girl.
Yep that's right. The new girl.
It's true that being the new girl is a fresh start. It is but sometimes you just don't want that new chance. You want to go back to the familiar, happy place that you used to go to.
I had a great life back then. I was popular but wasn't the self absorbed and mean kind. I was the one that everyone got along with, the girl even the loners approached in seek of homework help.
I hate that some people get treated like they're second class citizens. We are all amazing. No matter who we are, what we look like or how we act.So as you can imagine, I am quite disappointed to being immediately moved after my father got a promotion and had to move to a new office a thousand miles away from home.
My mother didn't approve of it either. Of course she was happy for dad but she didn't like the idea of me leaving in my GCSE year. But as predicted we ended up moving down here and getting a new bigger but less cost house.
I've only been the new girl once and that was the transition from primary to secondary where everyone except me had at least one person moving up with them. It was ok but that's because I was 11. It's not as scary then.
But it's the middle of the school semester and I'm going to be the new weirdo that turned half way through everything. Yay. Can't wait.
I walked up to the glass door and pushed it open, walking to reception waiting room. I sat down in a comfy looking school chair and waited.
I took a deep breath, looking around at my new surroundings.
This is sure going to take some getting used to.
