Ending the war

I looked across the battle field and saw the red, dying creatures running towards us, we were going to win, the stars had told us so.
But they had also told us that one day our luck would run out, that the sun wouldn't shine in our favour and that the world as we knew it would come to an end and crash down on us like a tone of bricks.
The creatures, you people know them as demons, raced towards us but to me it felt like they were sprinting in slow motion.
I met them with a clean and swift swipe that ended their lives instantly and made my army that small step closer to winning the war.
Only a few more minutes and it would be over. The death, the injuries and the homesickness that plagued us all.
Anger flashed through me as I saw the next demon take a swipe at me with its poisoned claws and I saw my dead sisters face. And with that final blow, the last of the enemy had fallen, I had ended the war.
