Chapter 28

Ana's POV

The bed felt bigger and lonelier with Erik gone. You kind of wished you hadn't declined his proposal but you knew it was for the best.

A day had passed since he left and you were still in bed laying miserable.

The was a knock at your door when you jumped up and ran hoping it was Erik. You pulled the door open to see Raven there. Your face fell from the smile that tugged on your lips.

"Oh hi Raven. Come in." you suggested opening the door to give her space to enter.

"Hello Ana. How are you? You dont look too good. " she observed taking a seat on the living room couch.

"Im awful. Have you seen Erik since yesterday? "

"No I haven't. Are you guys fighting? " she asked and you shook your head and began to tell her what was wrong.

"Oh God Ana. Im so sorry about all that. But i promise he only wants you. He wants to change for you. The Erik he was before he met you was dark, detached and selfish. Now he completely opposite and he loves it. And he loves you."

You put your face in your hands and groaned. "I messed up Raven. He's gone now."

"I have an idea. I have two tickets to Rome, Italy and I know how much you wanted to go so come with me and forget about him for a bit or maybe it'll give you a new outlook on your situation and give you some insight on how to handle it."

"Are you sure you wanna take me?" you asked

"Of course! Besides think of it as an apology for kissing Erik."

You nodded happily "Yes yes yes! When do we leave?"

"I hope tomorrow isnt too soon. "she said sort of apologetically.

"No! I have to call in to work and let them know but tomorrow is great! Im so excited! What do I pack? Whats the weather like?"

"Ana!" Raven yelled stopping you. "Relax. I'll come back later with a list of things you'll need. As for now call your job and pack the essentials. We'll be there for 5 days." she stood up and bent down to hug you. "See you later!"

3 hours later you had everything sorted and was almost done packing. You hopped in your car and headed to the nearest department store for a new bathing suit.

When you walked in you asked a clerk to point you in the direction of the swimsuits and you followed her directions.

On the way you reached into your bag to grab your wallet when you bumped into someone and fell to the ground.

"Oh God im sorry!" you heard a familiar voice say and you looked up to see Hank holding his hand out to help you up.

"Hey Hank!" you said placing your small hand in his large one. It felt nice. He pulled you up with ease.

"Hey Ana. Sorry about that. What are you doing here?" he questioned.

"Im going to Italy with Raven tomorrow and i need a bathing suit." you answered

"Sounds fun, im glad you two made up can i help? I dont know how much help i can be but it gets kinda lonely at the house when its just me and Charles so i try to prolong the time im out."

You giggled. "Course you can Hank I could use some help." You two walked to the bathing suit section and grabbed a few you liked and tried some on. You were on the verge of giving up when Hank handed you a yellow high waisted bikini.

He blushed. "You look nice in yellow. " he stated and you shrugged before returning back to the dressing room.

You quickly changed into the bikini and stepped out the room to go show Hank.

You spun around to show it off. "Well what do you think?" you asked.

His eyes widened tremendously and his face turned a deep shade of red as he blushed.

"It looks- you look great." he said slowly leaning in to you.

You tilted your head back but he took it as a sign of pushing your lips towards his.

"Hank," you whispered in protest before he pressed his lips to yours.
