The group searched for the Red Ribbon scientist, but they couldn't find him. Since he was only a brain at this point, he had no power level. Gero used this to his advantage, as he made it to his secret lab. It was inside some mountains.
(Gero)"Alright, I don't think anyone saw me. Now t-"
He was suddenly stopped by an unknown force. He looked around, and saw Guldo. He was holding his body in place with telekinesis.
(Guldo)"Guys, I found him! He's right he-"
He was shot in the chest by Gero, releasing him from the telekinetic grip. He opened the giant, steel door, and locked it on the way in. On the right side, their were three pods. The one labeled, 19, was opened. There was one pod separate from the others labeled, 16.

(Gero)"That green freak must've had his friends nearby. I don't have enough time to properly reprogram 17 and 18 now!"
He took a small, black remote out of his pocket.
(Gero)"I'll just have to rely on the emergency shutdown if they get out of hand."
He walked over to the pod labeled 17, and pressed the button next to it. The pod opened, and revealed a teenage boy with black hair.

(Gero)"You're awake. 17, how do you feel?"
17 turned to the scientist, and saw the remote in his hand.
(Android 17)"Good morning, Doctor. Thank you for waking me."
This genuinely surprised Gero. Every other time he activated 17 and 18, they attempted to kill him, and escape.
(Gero)"My word! Did I just hear you thank me?"
(Android 17)"But of course, I owe my existence to you."
