Shadows Break Out (Loki x Nebula: Avengers)

Loki POV

They landed on the planet with the Chitauri.  It was darker than where Thanos sat. Stars could be seem more clearly in the almost pitch black sky. The only light for miles was the area light from the ship. Tall mountains and deep canyons covered the surface of the planet. Slithering movement could be found in some of the canyons, Loki couldn't tell what they were but it made him nervous.

She pulled a lever and the bridge landed on the rocky surface. Then, she got out of the seat. Walking towards the exit of the ship, Loki took the idea that he needed to leave as well. So he picked up his staff and exited the ship behind Nebula.

Nebula lead the way. Her very feminine walk distracted Loki a bit.

The shadows seemed to move.

She was fearless though.

Loki caught up with her and walked side by side with her.

When Nebula stopped in her tracks in front of a rock pile, Loki did the same.

The shadows moved by the rock. Soon, hooded-figure stepped out of the shadows. The hood cover his eyes and only an ugly, wrinkled chin showed. His head moved from Nebula to Loki.

"Daughter of Thanos," he spoke.

"The Other." Nebula called him.

"Silence child!" he snapped at Nebula.

She looked down, ashamed.

The Other spoke to Loki, "Thanos told me you needed my army." His voice dry, raspy.

"Yes-" Loki started.

He cut Loki off. "The Tesseract is on Earth, use it to get there and get my army there." He turned to Nebula, "Child of Thanos, you will get the tesseract once he has his army."

Nebula nodded.

Loki nodded.

"The tesseract has awakened." The Other said, he moved his head over to an entrance of the cave.

Nebula started into the cave. Fearless. Or was she just following orders from her father? Was Nebula really the one who was so fearless? Has done this before? What did she do to them?

Snapping back to reality, Loki followed Nebula inside of the cave. He didn't know what he wanted to see inside the cave but it was off from the rest of the planet. There was nice walls that hid blue lights behind them. The floor was no longer the rocky surface of the planet but nice illuminated floor. The cave went deep into the mountain. Nebula lead, it was like she knew where she was going. Loki thought about what Nebula could be thinking. Maybe she thought that Loki was looking at her, or maybe her head was spinning with so many thoughts that Loki looking at her was something she never really considered.

At the end of the hallway was a huge rounded out look. They must have been traveling up this whole time because you could look among the landscape of the planet and the dark sky. It seemed peaceful, like the Bifrost on Asgard. If you just look out from Asgard to the rest of the 9 realms, it was peaceful. Loki remembers sneaking out of the palace to look beyond Asgard, to remember that there was more places to rule over. More places to prove that he could rule over Asgard better than Thor.

"The tesseract has awakened." the Other said, coming out of the shadows. "It's on Earth... it will send both of you there. Get this over with so my debt with Thanos will be over!" the Other yelled.

Nebula bowed. "He will be proud of you-"

The Other swiftly moved over to Nebula. He gripped her chin. "Thanos will never be proud of anyone but Gamora..." he made Nebula stare into where his eyes should be. "And I know that you have felt it first hand, Nebula... I know what Thanos does to those who fail in his eyes." the Other let go of Nebula's face and swiftly moved back into the shadows, "So don't fail...."
