Shadows Break Out (Loki x Nebula: Avengers)

Nebula POV

Once the Other crept into the shadows, Nebula turned to face Loki. "For the good of both of us..." she started, "Don't fail. Do what you need to do and get out before we take too long."

"What will he do?" Loki asked.

Nebula broke eye contact with Loki, she looked to the ground. "You don't want to know."

"Is it bad?" Loki asked.

She looked at him. Then she jumped in action, pulling out one of her weapons. Pinning him against the mountain with the weapon to his throat.

Loki didn't fight. He just let the cool blade touch his neck.

With no reaction from Loki, Nebula started to think that he didn't fear her. That Gamora was more scary than her. That not true. She's untrustworthy, a traitor. Then, Nebula backed off. Putting away her weapon by her side, and walking towards the middle of the outlook.

The floor had markings on it and was where the tesseract could reach. Nebula had seen her sister awaken the tesseract before for training. It was simple as of running your finger along the lines, but she waited for Loki to make a call, she was just there to babysit him. Or did Thanos put her on his mission because he knew that she would fail or die?

Brushing off his outfit, Loki walked towards Nebula. He grabbed her flesh arm, staring into her black eyes. She didn't liked being touched, he could tell that. "I won't fail, Nebula."

She broke away. Not liking it. The feeling was too strong for her. She bowed to Loki as she spoke, "When do you want to-"
"Stop right there." Loki said. He approached the blue woman. "You don't need to kneel." he told her.

Confused, Nebula got up and looked at him. "I can awake the tesseract when you want it."

"I am interested in how you awaken it... do it." Loki said, stepping away. He looked at Nebula, who she looked back. He smiled at her, Nebula didn't know what to do.

Her metal figure followed the groove in the ground. She didn't dare look at Loki. Her eyes fixed on the path in which her finger, she tried to keep her mind on the trace but she could feel Loki's eyes on her. He was just watching her awaken the tesseract, not doing anything else... Oh god!

Once her metal figure made it to the center of the circle, the line glowed in the blinding blue light.

Loki walked over beside Nebula.

Soon, the bright blue light covered the circle area in which they both stood in the center of it. The blue light seemed to be alive, moving and shaping the circle. Nebula have never saw it jump to life like this. It circled and circled them. Building small walls of blue light around the circle, as the floor lowered. Lights were blinding against the darkness of the planet. The light was closing in on them, trapping them.

Standing tall, Nebula was ready for the light to eat her.

Loki looked down upon Nebula. She was cute when she was trying to be strong. Was what he thought.

The light came at them like a rushing enemy. She was ready to pounce upon the light or anything on the other side of this door.

Just as the light consumed them, Loki reached over and gripped Nebula's flesh hand.

She gasped.

The tesseract took them.
