Shadows Break Out (Loki x Nebula: Avengers)

Nebula POV

The gun was pointed right at the man's chest.

"Drop your weapon!" The man ordered. In his hand was a briefcase with the tesseract inside.

Nebula was silent. The best thing you could do is not talk. The silence filled the room except for the sound of the light gathering at the top of a cone in the ceiling.

"You're here for the tesseract-" the man started but Nebula stopped him by pulling the trigger of the gun. The bullet landed in the man's chest.

Walking over, Nebula picked up the briefcase. She looked down upon the man. "You don't understand what you're dealing with."

With that, Nebula sassily walked out of the room. From the look of the ceiling before she left, it was going to blow up. So she wanted to get out of there as fast as she could. The gun in her metal hand and in the other hand the briefcase that held the tesseract. Thought swam through her head, what if she just took it. It was an item of great power. She could rip her father apart with it. She could get the revenge she has always wanted. But something stopped her.

"Oh my god-" her sharp hearing caught as she reached ground level. A group of men stood at the top. They all looked at her. Eyes almost popping out of their heads.

"She's..." one started but he couldn't finish it.

Nebula shot down each of them like they were nothing as she continued to walk forward.

It seemed like she entered a garage because there were parked cars. Loki just sat down at the back of the truck. He nodded at Nebula. So she threw him the case. Hiding it behind him in the bed of the truck as he laid his spear over his legs.

    Agents walked behind the cars, all rushing out of the building. They knew that the tesseract was going to blow, one wait though. She seemed to be waiting for someone. Her plain brown hair was pulled back into a bun. Once Nebula entered the room, she looked at her. Her reaction was like everyone else here- surprised.

    Walking toward the truck Loki was in, Nebula's ears caught a warning on this agent's radio. Her head snapped over to the woman.

    As Nebula made eyes contact with her, she jumped away, trying to hide. Looking back to Loki, he nodded for her to get the woman.

    Slowly turning back to the woman, Nebula pounded into action. Pulling out her weapon and running at girl. Bullets flew at Nebula but they were blocked by her arm, which flew up as she started shouting. Once she reached her, Nebula hit the gun out of her hand. Kicked her in the chest area, making her fly backwards.

Glancing behind herself, Nebula spotted Loki spinning off in his truck. This place is about to blow anyway, Nebula thought, I should finish this up.

But the woman grabbed a small pocket knife and cut Nebula's check really fast.

Grunting, Nebula aimed for the head as she swung her sword at the woman.

She ducked, dogging the blade. Trying to kick Nebula's legs form under her but failed as a metal sound filled the now empty garage.

Gripping one of the woman's arms, Nebula twisted it behind her. Bringing up her leg, she then kicked the woman into a bed of a truck. With her down, Nebula raced into that truck. Sticking her finger into the keyhole to start to car. Sure it hurt a little but Nebula has faced much more pain than this.

The ground started to shake. The way the road vibrated as the truck moved out of the compound. Even though she didn't know where she was going, Nebula followed the signs. But soon she was stuck in traffic of a car flipped out.

"Screw it!" She yelled really loudly, then she rolled down the window. Jumping out of the car and onto the one next to her.

"Stop!" She heard a voice behind her. Slowly turning around, she saw the woman and she was pointed a gun at her. "I will shout." She said weakly.

Nebula waited for a while. Thai was to make her think that she was going to listen to her, but she was so wrong.

The ground started to shake violently.

That was her cue. Jumping high onto the hood of the car, Nebula watched at the woman went flying from the uneven weight. Then she took off, hopping from roof to roof of the cars.

At the front of the traffic jam was a car flipped over, fire licking it up. Looking up from the car to the clear road ahead, Nebula spotted Loki's truck. She needed to get out of here before this place becomes just dust.

Leaping over the car, Nebula hit the ground running after Loki's car.
