Loki ordered that they go to the nearest clear space.
When they took off, no one said a word. No one spoke, no one moved, if they did it would be so loud and everyone would know who it was. The rattle of the car was head along with the roar of the air conditioning.
The whole ride Nebula looked out the window. Seeing the green trees and seeing a faded reflection of the girl Loki made her to be in the window of the car. People drove by them, they didn't look at Nebula as the others did when she was herself. How could this planet judge her based on the color of her skin? Or did they know about her, were they scared of what she has done? They better be.
He broke the silence when Loki spoke about the tesseract that laid at his feet, "The tesseract will take us to what where we need to be."
The guy in the driver's seat pulled over on the road. "The field." he said, turning off the car.
Clint and the scientist opened their doors of the car and hopped out.
Loki turned to Nebula. "To build the portal, I need something from a rich man across the world." he was explaining what his plan was.
It was the first time Nebula noticed how he smiled at her a lot. No one had smiled at her like that, a kind-heartfelt smile. Gamora and Thanos smiled at her with an evilness not like her mother did. So far her mother and Loki were the only people in this universe who smiled at her. She didn't know what to do. When she was younger, happier, before Thanos took her happiness and killed it, she would smile back. But that was so long ago, and the memories of happiness had faded by now.
"Those people might find us." Loki told Nebula, "Don't aim to kill until I tell you so." Unexpectedly he grabbed her chin and made her look at him. "Do you trust me, Nebula?" he asked her.
It felt so right but wrong at the same time. No not wrong, but different. Nebula doesn't trust anyone because she would and they would go stab her in the back later. She remembers the day her sister threw her off a cliff to win, the day Gamora left her for dead. Now she can't trust anyone. Pushing down feelings for anyone until her soul was cold as ice. That's how Thanos wanted her to be. Nebula put her trust in the wrong person and became the monster she is today.
He's different, her head was yelling at her. He knows how you feel. You can trust him. "Yes." Nebula said. Half of her instantly regretted it while the only half thought she made the right choice.
Loki let go of her.
Clint opened Loki's car door, letting the Prince walk out. Once Loki walked around the car, Clint reached in and grabbed the briefcase with the Tesseract in it.
Nebula looked out her window, her metal fingers wrapped around the car door handle. She looked down at the pale hand, how the finger nails were painted blue and purple like her real self. Then she looked at her reflection. Her hazel eyes stared into her soul, they were different. It was odd seeing her looking like this. When she went on missions, she never hid herself but Loki used his brain more than she did. He didn't like those feelings lose when he went killing people. Maybe that's what made Nebula say yes. Say that she trust him with her life. He planned before he acted, while Nebula let her feelings get the best of her. Finally, she pushed the door open.

Once they arrived in a large city, in which people spoke a different language, Loki lead them to a warehouse. He forced more people under his control and started building something big.
Nebula was on guard. She just looked out at the busy streets, not even bothering on what's going on behind her. The wind didn't blow her hair like the other's on the streets. Loki must have been too busy with his plan to make that happen.
Late that night, the workers started to file out of the building. They walked behind Nebula, not saying anything to her. Not even looking at her.
The city was dark in this part but beyond here was flashing white lights. The only light for miles beside the light given off by the tesseract.
"Nebula..." Loki voice spoke, scaring her a bit, "Tomorrow night, we'll start. I need one more piece and he has it." Loki walked next to Nebula and pointed at the flashing lights in the distance. "I am going to his party tomorrow night as they get me the last piece." he grabbed her hand, she let him. "Would you like to come with me?" he asked her, leaning in closer.
She looked down at their hands. He held her metal arm and she could see it. Loki lifted the skin on her. She was herself. Now she looked into his blue eyes. They were very close. Nebula wanted to not like it but she did. It was weird. "Yes..." she answered him, her eyes quickly looking down at his lips. What I am doing? She asked herself.
It happened so quickly. A second and it was over. Nebula didn't know how to feel. But Loki backed up after it happened. After he kissed her.
