Jae's POV

I'm a serial killer. No, not the kind you see in movies, who will stalk you outside of your house and trap you in. I'm more of the kind that will kill first, and let you call the police. I'm the kind that loves to see the light drain from someone's eyes as they cough up blood prior to dying - and that's just how I've been raised ever since I was little.

I was at my Parents' house, sitting in my blacked-out bedroom with pictures of my victims taped to the wall, yellow string and pin-needles drawing them together, person after person, red x's over the ones that were dead, and the ones that I wished were dead.

Listening to the police sirens coming from outside of my window, I sighed. Nothing would ever be normal in our town. Living in St. Louis, Missouri was no easy task. Just in one year, there was a recorded 138 homicides in the city alone, allowing my home city to take the role as the 5th most murder-infested city in the world. Not that I minded it - it was kind of ironic to me. Me, a murderer responsible for alot of the yearly deaths, was responsible for helping my serial killer, police officer Dad to find out who was up to the murders. Nobody suspected a 13 year old 7th grader and her father to be responsible for about 60 murders.

Hearing my phone ring didn't cause me to jump. I turned on the bed and picked it up, rolling my eyes at the diamonds embedded on the phone case, which my mom had put there to make my phone look like a normal person's phone. Looking at the contact, I saw that it was my boss and best friend, Cedric. '' Hello? '' I asked as I held the phone to my ear, tapping my thigh.

'' Hey - news on new victims and gangs in the area, '' Cedric said through the phone, his voice rough and scratchy. Though I'd gotten used to it, it was weird how I cringed away, annoyed, every time he picked up. '' So apparently there's a new gang in the area. They came in from LA - call themselves MS-13's. Heard of 'em? '' he asked, awaiting my response.

Truth was, I'd been affiliated with one of their members before. Couldn't remember his name though - it wouldn't come to me no matter how hard I tried to pull the memory up. '' Yeah. '' I said in an uninterested tone, not bothering to hold it back.

'' And? '' he asked expectantly, and I shrugged into the phone.

'' They're responsible for children and women murders. Pretty ruthless from what I've experienced, '' I explained, and heard Cedric sigh. '' Why'd you suddenly call me to bring it up? Are they trying to contact us? '' I asked, leaning back against the black-painted wooden frame of my bed.

'' Well, no, it's just that they're recruitin' new members. Mostly girls, some boys. Figured you'd try to go talk to them, maybe kill some of their members as a warning, '' Cedric said, and it was clear to me that he was afraid, otherwise he'd tell me to stay back.

'' You know I only kill when it's needed. '' I lied, and heard Cedric scoff.

'' I don't know when you're being sarcastic, Jae , because that was a straight up lie. '' Cedric said, and I nodded into the phone, knowing he couldn't see me. Acknowledging my silence, he wrapped up the phone call, which I was eager to get done with. '' Just - if you see signs of them in our..territory, tell me. They're dangerous. ''

'' Will do. '' I said impatiently, waiting for the phone call to be over.

'' Well, I'll leave you alone. Get some sleep - you know we meet tomorrow, right? Cops'll be on your street tomorrow, so you need maybe a few hours of sleep before you sneak out. ''

'' I know. ''

And then he hung up, and I opened messenger, seeing about 10 new messages from the group chat I was in. Clicking on it, different names popped up, and I rolled my eyes.

Ashley : Who took the guns? Matthew's going batsh*t wild looking for one.

Grayson : Ask Jae. She's the one who uses them.

Ashley: Knowing her, she's probably out searching for someone to put down, or asleep. I'll ask when she gets on.

Grayson : That'd be the best idea. Matthew, just chill out, man. We dont even need guns right now.

Matthew T. : Don't tell me what we need and dont need, Grayson. Jae always takes stuff without our permission.

Grayson : She's the only one that ever does anything around here, idiot.

Matthew T. : Shutup, errand boy. What do you know about us?

Ashley : Chill, guys.

Grayson : Dont worry, Ash. He's just being stupid.

Matthew T. : Ugh.

Jae : You guys argue like a bunch of little kids.

Ashley : You're one to talk. ' Where's my f*cking gun? And my knife? Uhh Im so mad I could kill someone! '

Jae : Don't quote me, Ashley. By the way, I'm sneaking out now. Should be there in 5 to 10 minutes, so I'll lose reception.

I put the phone down and shut it off, grabbing a knife and walking out of the door.
