I lifted the window and climbed out, shutting it as I left, not even realizing it had been raining the entire time I'd been on the phone with Cedric. '' God... '' I mumbled to myself, crouching behind a bush as a police car sped by, sirens blaring down the road. As soon as it was gone, I sped down the road and towards the forestry area far from my house, my feet pounding hard against the ground.
As I arrived, I pushed past brambles and thorns, falling forward from a drop off that I'd forgotten was there, tumbling face first into a clean, mowed pasture of nothing but grass surrounded by thick trees. A house rested in the middle of the pasture, and I walked towards it, feeling safe in the dark night, the grass, and myself, covered by rain. My phone was getting wet in my pocket, but money was never really a problem for me. I walked up the steps of the house, pressing in the numbers 1957, which was the year of birth for Luis Garavito, who had the most committed homicides in the world. The thick metal door flung open, and after I walked in, I put in the same password on the other side, and it closed.
Walking through the common room, which was completed with guns, knives, cords, screwdrivers, mechanical stuff, swords, location hiders, hacking material, fingerprint coverings, and anything needed to hide tracks, all locked into a panel in the wall, which needed my handprint to be opened. The common room also had leather couches, chairs, tables, and breakfast/lunch/dinner trays.
Every room was spotless, all except for Ashley's, which was littered with cords, technological stuff, and anything possible for hacking. I say that, only because I have no idea what any of it's called. I walked across the common room after taking off the sweatshirt I was wearing, walking around with tight, black jeans and a black tanktop with a pocket on the side, and in it was a sharpened pocket knife as well as a taser.
I walked around for a while before going into Ashley's room, sitting on the queen sized bed and watching her tap away on the computer. This time, she wasn't hacking, she was texting someone. '' What are you doing? '' I asked, amused, and she flinched, shutting off the computer quickly before turning around to face me.
'' Ever learn to knock? '' she hissed, and I shrugged, smirking. '' It was no one. '' she finally said, and though I didn't believe her, I sighed and thought of a different question.
'' Where's Grayson? '' I asked with a huff, looking around the room at her locked windows, covered by ugly red curtains. Ashley grinned at me and pointed at her open door with her pointer finger.
'' In his room with Matthew and Cedric. They've been waiting for you. '' Ashley said, turning the computer back on as she spun around. '' Shut the door behind you. ''
I chuckled and walked out, shutting the door and walking across the hall to Grayson's room, opening the door and walking in, shutting it and breathing in the smell of vanilla and cigarette smoke, which weirdly went together pretty well.
'' Gray, '' I said, smiling as the brown haired, green-eyed boy turned around in his chair to face me. Grayson was insanely buff, but not big, and had tanned white skin and a strong jawline, as well as soft, chestnut brown hair that swooped up, revealing his pretty green eyes.
'' You're back early, '' he smiled widely, checking his watch. '' Only 12:30 - good job, '' he stood up and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around me and giving me a hug. I sighed, relieved, as I saw that he would forever be in a good mood with me. Cedric cleared his throat, and I heard Matthew giggle. Grayson pulled away and sat on the bed beside me, allowing Cedric and Matthew to scoot up to his computer. '' We were just checking police schedules. Turns out they'll be coming to our streets alot more often. '' Grayson frowned, and Matthew humph'd, scrolling down the small words on the computer.
'' You hacked into police schedules? '' I smirked, putting my hand up. Grayson highfived me and I laughed. '' Nice. ''
'' You need to be more careful. If you'd left a second later, you would've been caught. '' Matthew said, and a red alert came up on the screen. He simply clicked out of it and growled to himself.
'' Too late to tell me that, moron, '' I scoffed. '' I almost got busted as soon as I went out of the window. ''
Grayson turned to me and tilted his head. '' You got lucky, then. Ashley was in the middle of changing the schedules once you got here. Maybe she did it already. ''
'' Maybe, '' I chuckled, thinking back to when I saw her texting.
'' So, what are our plans for tomorrow? '' said Cedric, spinning around in the chair after shutting down the computer.
'' Guess I'll have to get into disguise again and go check out the MS-13 people..'' I sighed. They shouldn't be all bad - I'd dealt with much worse.
'' I can come, too. '' Grayson offered, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and smiling. Cedric narrowed his eyes.
'' Fine. As long as Grayson's with you, I guess you can go. '' Cedric groaned.
At least I had someone.
