I woke up, in a hospital bed. I laid there quietly, keeping my eyes closed, matching my breaths to the beeping of the machines that surrounded the bed, the only indications of my heartbeat, my existence. My legs were numb. Curiosity slowly pried open my swollen eyes to meet a dismal view of a magnolia colored hospital room, the door a navy blue. I immediately knew it was locked, this was to keep me in here, not them out. I slid my eyes sideways, they'd handcuffed my wrists to the bed bars. Short, but plenty deep cuts ran along my arms, beyond was my chart.

Status: Unstable
Admittance: 6 PM
Cause of Admittance: Bruises and blood found on body - passed out near attacker, who seemed to be badly beaten as well. Self defense obvious.
Diagnosis: None
Duration: UnknownI groaned and tugged on the chains, my knuckles throbbing and blood starting to dribble down my nose in my panic. It dripped into my mouth, and I let out a shriek, thrashing against the handcuffs. I couldn't stand being locked in place. My body needed to move - my muscles couldn't handle being coiled up, ready to spring. My fingers were folded into aching fists, sore from punching madly in anger.
It was beginning to hurt. My chest was tight in eagerness - I needed to get out and I needed to get out then and there, right at that second.
I heard the lock twist on the metal door, and it opened. In walked a tall, male doctor dressed in work clothes, a blue mask over his mouth and nose. He pulled it down. I growled lowly in my chest, my stomach throbbing now, the pain coming back. '' Your anesthetic must be wearing off right about now, '' he said calmly, and as a shock of pain made my body shutter and tremble, I tried to curl up to decrease the pain. It didn't work - the chains were even more annoying. '' What happened out there? '' he asked suddenly, sitting down on the bed beside mine. I could hardly understand what he was saying - my consciousness was fading gradually as I trembled with anger and pain. '' That was your dad out there. Did he attack you? ''
'' Hnng..'' my teeth chattered, and before the doctor could say more, Grayson burst into the room. He sprinted over to me and ripped away the chains, glaring at the doctor.
'' She has ADHD, you idiot. '' Grayson hissed, his hair still tousled and his eyes full of concern and anger. The doctor looked at me, nodded, and stood up, holding out a hand to Grayson. He slapped the doctor's hand away, and looked at me. I was still trembling, my body seeming to be paralyzed, the muscles in my arms and legs still coiled up, like a snake ready to strike.
'' She's just in shock, Mr. Dolan. '' the doctor said, sounding slightly annoyed. '' I'm curious as to why you'd visit in the first place. Normally people of your standards don't care for such as....hers, '' he looked at me, and I groaned, my jaw tightening. Grayson looked highly offended and angry.
'' I'm not like Ethan. That little douchebag needs to lower his stupid standards, '' he said bitterly, and before I knew it, my body was tensed up, pain spreading everywhere, my head throwing back against the bed, my arms flying down to grip the bedsheets. I didn't know what was happening - I remember biting down on my tongue like a carrot, blood spreading throughout my mouth and dribbling down my lip and neck, warm and tasting of salt and metal. Grayson rushed to my side, yelling something I couldn't really understand. I could feel him holding my shoulders down with strong hands, and then everything went black once more.
