"Hey, Finn, can I talk to you about something?" Rachel asked, at Breadstix with her boyfriend.
"Hm? Yeah, you can tell me anything." Finn set down his fork, showing he was actively listening.
Rachel appreciated when he did this, as she was used to being ignored. It wasn't her fault that she talked a lot, she just liked to talk to people and couldn't really change it, yet she would get mocked for being enthusiastic and a 'chatterbox.'
She sighed, wishing that she could lend some of her ability to talk to people to Kurt. He had been growing quieter and quieter, never showing up at lunch or any social places anymore. She was worried.
"It's about Kurt."
Finn looked mildly confused. "Why do people keep talking to me about Kurt?"
"We're worried, I guess. Anyway, I was at the mall with him the day after Sectionals, and he was buying some clothes. He's usually a small, you know, because he's so petite. But this time he bought an extra-small, and he was talking to the lady and mentioned that it was a bit big on him. She commented that he must be really skinny then, and he told her that he disagreed. 'Quite the opposite,' I believe he said. Which totally isn't true, he's entirely skinny, and the opposite would be... well, overweight. He seems to have it in his mind somehow that he's fat, even though he's smaller than an extra small." Rachel rushed, saying it all before she changed her mind.
Finn furrowed his eyebrows. "Why would he think that? It's completely ridiculous and untrue."
"Well, you know how he's never at lunch? When's the last time you've seen him eat? It may seem ridiculous, but it's really just irrational... he believes it, though the proof is there in that it isn't true..." Rachel inhaled deeply, trying to get to the point. "What I'm trying to say is, I think Kurt has a... I think he has an eating disorder, Finn."
