That night, Finn went home to talk to Burt.

"Hey, where's Kurt?" Finn asked.

"I think he's on a run. Training for track, you know." Burt said, a note of pride in his voice.

Finn cleared his throat. This was going to be awkward. "Um, I need to talk to you."

"What's wrong, Finn?"

Unbeknownst to them, Kurt entered the house at that time, just in time to hear Finn's answer.

"It's about Kurt, I'm worried about him."

Kurt walked towards the kitchen, hiding near the doorway so he could intervene if he needed to.

"Why?"

"Well... you know how when he comes home, he always says he's already eaten? I don't think he has. He never eats lunch at school, we never see his breakfast dishes. A couple of our friends actually talked to me about him, worried. He was buying clothes with Rachel and apparently he went down a size, and the lady scanning his clothes told him that he must be skinny since he said that they were still a bit big. He said he wasn't, he thinks that he's overweight. Rachel and I think he may have an eating disorder."

At this point Kurt walked back to the front door, opening and shutting it so that it made noise and walking into the kitchen.

"Hey, you're back early, Finn." He commented, pretending that he didn't know what they were talking about. "How was date night with Rachel?"

"Oh, um, good. We went to Breadstix."

"Oh, I love the food there! Except the breadsticks, for a place named after them they are really bad." Kurt said, trying to make them think he enjoyed food still. He could see them look a little confused but laugh at his joke.

He's got to throw them off his trail. If they force him to eat, he'll get even fatter.

Finn headed up to his room, leaving Kurt and his father.

"Oh, did I tell you? Apparently my favorite line changed their sizes. They shifted them down a size, so since I was a small, an extra small is the size that fits me. Like, their new extra-small is the equivalent of their old small. The lady who I bought my clothes from was convinced that I was, like, ridiculously skinny, since she didn't know that about the size change. I tried to correct her, but she just looked skeptical." He told Burt, who suddenly looked understanding.

"That's ridiculous, to change sizes like that. Misleading. You should get some rest, though." Kurt nodded, saying good night to his father and heading upstairs to shower.
