Kurt was extremely nervous when he walked into his new school. He didn't know anyone, and he'd never been great at making friends. It's why he loved glee club so much, he was practically given friends on a silver platter. Or rather, a cellophane platter.
Kurt hardly realized he ran into someone until he fell to the ground, having been caught up in his thoughts.
He heard a chuckle. "Try using your eyes next time."
He looked up, seeing a tall boy smirking and offering him a hand up. He shyly accepted it, already embarrassed. "Sorry about that."
"I can tell. You're the new kid, right?"
Kurt nodded. "Yeah."
"Great way to start off. Come on, I'll show you to your dorm."
Kurt followed him nervously, trying to ignore the people looking at him curiously.
"Before you ask, I know where your dorm is because I'm supposed to be getting a new roommate today. My name's Sebastian, and you are...?"
"Kurt Hummel." He filled in.
Sebastian nodded, before stopping in front of a door and unlocking it. "If you lose your key, good luck. They only give out extras sparingly."
"Duly noted." Kurt mumbled, not sure what to think of his roommate.
They entered the room, and Kurt looked around. It was decorated like the rest of the school. The bookcase was full, picture frames scattered along the shelves. There was a stack of notebooks by one of the beds, which must be Sebastian's.
"If you have any books, I can clear out some of the shelves." It wasn't really an offer, more of an this-is-how-it-is.
"No, it's okay. I didn't even think to bring books."
Sebastian nodded, looking around. He bit his lip. "Am I forgetting anything?"
"I don't think so."
"You wouldn't know if I was." Sebastian rolled his eyes, suddenly irritated.
"Sorry." Kurt said quietly, taken aback.
Sebastian sighed, checking the time. "I have to go," he said, leaving.
Kurt looked after him curiously, not quite sure what to make of him.
