• what it means to lose love

The day you broke my heart,

I drove to my best friend's house crying my heart out.

She told me that the definition of love was the hardest question to be ever made

And I said,

No, it would be harder if I asked you what it means to lose love.

Losing love does not mean the end of the world, or that the sun will never shine again,

but it means that no sunset will never be as red as before.

It means that music will never be loud enough anymore,

and the barrier between drunk and passed out becomes as thin as the walls in your heart.

Losing love is losing a home you thought you would grow old in,

but the birds will still sing each morning

Even though you won't be able to appreciate any of their songs. 

You will keep dreaming, but you will dream in black and white.

When you wake up,

You won't brush your hair or your teeth,

You will sit near the window and wait for his car to appear in your driveway - but it never does. 

Losing love means that time will become slow and painful to look at.

Losing you was not the end of the world,

but it was the end of a lot of things that meant the world to me.
