Islam is a perfect way of life. You know how you hear stuff like:
To some Islam is just a set of rules and regulations, others see it as a perfect way of life.
It's pretty nice to think about.
Whenever I heard people mainly my teachers saying "Islam is a way of life", I used to wonder why they always say that , I mean how could Islam not be a way of life it doesn't make sense.
You know later I realized that people usually categorize religion. Like oh my name is this, my age is this, and my religion is this.
That doesn't make sense , I mean you can't just put away your religion and expect it to be who you are.
In fact, if you think of religions like Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and any other religion it's supposed to be a way of life, technically that's what religion means, believing in a supreme "authority", and you would follow that authority in order to you know etc etc depending on the religion's goal or purpose.
Some religions like Buddhism, I would not include because some say it's a philosophy but idk.
So going back to the set of rules.
It's true, religions not just Islam is a set of rules. What are their books and scriptures for then?
Like the quran is manual to Earth, it's true, some people need to see it as rules and once they see the purpose and the beneficial things behind it , after Allah's command, you start seeing it as a way of life.
Allah must always be in your mind though.
For example: lets say you are trying to convince a robber that robbing is bad.
You need to prove to the robber that robbing is bad for his/herself.
If you think about it , for the person who is a big robber not worried about who's gonna catch him, he'll live a life of luxury.
So if you think about it , why is robbing really bad if it's beneficial to a person?
Because it harms the victim.
See, in order to see that something is really bad like smoking, killings, stealing you need to first put faith in your heart.
Islam is true justice. That Allah will punish that robber in the Day of Judgement if he is not caught in the dunya.
Like another example (going off topic to juctice): lets say Adolf Hitler , who killed more than 6,000,000 Jews. Lets say the police catches him, how would they punish him? If they put him to death, that would not "cover" how much people he killed. What about the 5,999,999 people left?
So Allah can only really punish him , like burning 6,000,000 times. As He says in the quran...
But anyways you really see these rules, as justice, as our way of life to bring out one purpose- worshipping Allah alone.
So Islam is really beautiful.
You could say "oh other religions say killing is bad soo "
Islam actually brings the justice , and Allah says in the quran, Surat-ul-Maeda Chapter 5 Verse 32 which basically states that killing one innocent human being it's like that person killed humanity and if a person saves a human then it's like that person saved humanity.
That's good enough for me.
So whether you see Islam as rules or a way of life both sides need to see that this is all for the sake of Allah. And the Creator knows His creation best.
