Okay so I'm going to explain why I put some random asterisks (*) up there and it's becaaause it's a baaad word.
Oooooo she said a baaad word!
I don't know, I grew up in a household where saying "pig" was a bad word, soo yeah.
Modern days now people use a lot of bad words in daily life.
But to be honest they shouldn't exactly be called a bad word, if you really think about it. Well bad words means bad things. And bad things pretty much tends to follow us all the time.
If you think about it they're not like bad bad, like some are just age appropriate and I dont need to give any examples.
And some like for example sh** means feces, or waste, orrr poop.
So yeah its not that it means something different its just the you use it.
Whenever something bad happens or describing a situation...It's really hard to be patient. But the best thing to do is to say something beneficial, good for us, to praise or give remembrance to our Lord who put us in the situation in the first place.
There are some words where you just plainly use.
Example: Gay
Lets all think for a minute that it usually refers to homosexual people.
People who seek lust, or you know what from the same gender.
So there. You take that and compare to how people use it now. (I've heard people say this)
"You have to write with pencils, not pens". Thats gay.
"Seriously? No backpacks? So gay."
"Omg, one direction? Gay."
"This is so gay, we have to like write essays."
"Omg you breathe oxygen?" Gay.
Okay well not the last part, but it's bound to happen the way we throw words. I mean really they make literally no sense.
I mean we honestly don't know , as muslims, how scary this term actually is. Take the people of Lut ( he is the prophet of Allah) he was sent to the people of Sodom. Who were people practicing the act, that was not their only crime but anyways in the end those people were probably having one of the scariest punishments sent from Allah.
Surat-ul- Ash-Shura, 160-168
Surat-ul-Qamar, 33-36
(Look it up, I dare you)
"What the %*#^ man! #+%^*!! #*%^{^#^"
And to be honest, it completely has nothing to do with the situation and putting random words do not make sense at all.
The messenger of Allah (pbuh) said
"Most of the sins of the children of Adam come from the tongue."
So basically we have to very careful about how Allah gave this tongue of ours and use it wisely.
The best way to use our tongue is for the sake of Allah! In that way it protects us from sinning.
Allah says in Surat- Al-Hujurat, Verse 11:
"Oh you who believe! Let not a group mock at another group, it may be that, that group is better than them (the group who mocks). Also do not let one women mock at another, it may be that the other is better than the women.
Do not defame one another,
Do not insult one another by nicknames, how bad is it to insult one's brother in faith (to call a faithful believer) as "O sinner" or "O wicked", etc.
And whosoever does not repent, then indeed are such Zalimun. (Wrong-doers)
It is better to replace these words with the beautiful thikr Allah has given us. Honestly this thikr He gives us is a blessing. Remembering Allah is blessing , alhamdulilah.
We should use our tongues for goodness and do not insult one another, cuz we don't know maybe Allah sees them better than us.
All in all, in situations, or just random don't throw around filthy words and replace it with the remembrance of Allah so we can have some barakah.
Ya Allah, give us rahma (mercy) and guide us.
