Konoha's New Prodigy: The Journey

"We're home!" Naruto said as we walked in.

"Welcome home, Naruto-" mom said before gasping and rushing to hug me. "Thank Kami you're back Hima!"

"It's okay mother, I'm home." I said while calming her. She was already crying.

"You see? Everyone's missed you here" dad said with a grin.

"Hey mom! Where is the-" said a young familiar voice before gasping. "Hima-chan!" he said in surprise.

"Boruto nii-chan" I said in a serene voice, not knowing what to do or react.

"Heh! I see you're finally back! Tired of being out there with Sasuke-san dattebasa?!" he said in a cocky tone.

'Some things never change'

"More like saving your ass while you flirted with everyone in the village." I said

"What the-?! I've been on missions too!"

 "Anyway, is there dinner?" I said while turning to my mother.

"Hai! I was about to serve it." she said.

"Itadakimasu!!" we all said before eating.

"Man, the Uzumaki family's finally back dattebayo!" Naruto added.

"So how was the journey Hima?" Hinata said while I drank water to keep eating like a maniac.

'Man, I've missed mother's food'

"Everything was fine. I trained a lot with uncle Sasuke, and helped him during missions. We traveled many places."

"I see, your hair's pretty  long again" mother replied.

"And is there any sign of him?" Boruto asked me by surprise.

"Boruto" my dad warned. I glanced at him in a serious way before giving him a cold smile.

"We're working on that" I said while returning to eat. After a while, I was in my room, getting ready to bed.

"It's...the same." I murmured while looking at all the clothes I used to wear, all the books and ninja tools I had and left 2 years ago.

"We left it the way it was until your return" I heard mother say while entering. "Of course, seeing how much you've grown I think you may need new clothes"

"Probably" I said with a chuckle as mom gave me a warm smile.

"We've missed you" she said while hugging me.  "Your father wanted to give you this once you returned, but I guess he forgot about it."

I looked down before my eyes widened. "Is this..??"

"The flower pin you gave him during the war." My eyes started watering at this point.

"I can't believe he still has it." I said while carrying in my hands. "This means so much...it marked the beginning of everything."

"And we acknowledge how far you've come. Naruto-kun wants to support your future as a shinobi. He thought of this all this time."

"That's...amazing. But how did he-"

"Don't worry, you'll have time to talk about this later. Now rest, it's been a long day."
