Steve
You woke with a pounding headache, slowly pushing yourself up from the ground, glass falling from your back as you did. The only sound you heard was the high pitched ringing in your ears, you looked around you seemed to have been down somewhere industrial, tall warehouse buildings surrounding you. Part of them had flames licking up the metal siding. Your legs threatened to give out on you as you stood, slowly turning in a circle trying to make heads or tails of what happened.
A dull throbbing in your ankle caused you to limp forward, your mind reeling to how you ended up here of all places. You remembered the party, the one Tony had persuaded you in joining him and Banner in his group of unlikely hero's. You looked down your body as you trudged on, your suit was jet black and extremely tight. There were two guns on your hips, how you had them was another story, you were a horrible shot.
"Y/n!" Someone called out a streak of dark blue slammed you into the ground as a blast went off near by, heat searing its way past you.
You tried to shove whoever was laying over you off as hard as you could but he didn't budge as another round went off, the heat intensified this time. When he finally moved his body weight from yours, standing to his full height. Pale blue eyes looking down at you, worry etched across his face. His face was partially obscured by a ridiculous looking mask, it was same color blue was the tight suit he was wearing.
'What the hell?" You signed up to him angrily.
"Don't you sign at me in that tone." He smirked reaching down and pulling you to your feet. Your head started to throb again as he did, the world tilting and turning on it axis. You felt your stomach started to flip, you braced your hand out on his arm.
'You know what I said?' You signed.
"Of course I do." He said back, tilting his head slightly, confusion etched across his face. Another blast ricocheted through a close by building, the man grabbed your hand suddenly and turned to run but you dug your heels in the ground. For all you knew he was someone who was going to hurt you, though some how in your gut you had a feeling he wouldn't.
"Come on, we have to go!" He yelled, looking back to you.
'Who are you?' You signed back to him, he blinked hard a couple of time before shaking his head.
"We have to get you some place safe." He yelled, part of one of the buildings nearby started to collapse causing you to jump slightly.
You looked to him and around surroundings one more time before deciding that he was the safer option. It not like you didn't have to guns strapped to your hips you could scare him off with. He obviously knew you, or knew who you were cause he yelled your name when he jumped on you covering you from two blasts. You just couldn't remember how he knew you.
At the moment running with him seemed like the better option then wandering around and possibly getting yourself killed. He paused at the edge of a building peaking around the corner. Your heart rate had sky rocket to what you sure were a record level.
"Hey guys, something happened to y/n, she doesn't seem to know who I am." You heard him in stereo suddenly, almost like you had a headset in one ear.
"Who could forget the man in spangly uniform." Someone stated in your ear, you looked around trying to figure out were he was.
"Not now Stark!" The man snipped back, he looked back you. You knew the name Stark, this man knew him too. "Okay, we have to run."
You nodded to him taking a deep breath as he turned the corner his hand still holding on to yours. You followed him, your life depended on it. He told you he would get you safety and he was, you saw the open jet ahead as you both sprinted ahead. Fires all around the both of you, columns of thick black smoke clouded the sky.
Your boots sounded heavy as the hit the metal door as you rushed up the back. The door slowly closing behind you. You saw Tony at the controls, clad in a suit of red and gold iron.
"Ready kids? Well, kid and a dinosaur." He smirked as he lifted the jet up off the ground.
"Hey, y/n." You looked over to the man who had just saved your life, he was pulling the mask back, sandy blonde hair, slick with sweat, sticking up all over the place. His soft blues taking your face in, the worry in his made no sense to you. It was a mix of fear laced in those eyes as he looking up your forehead. Slowly you brought your hand up, feeling the stickiness from a recent wound.
"Do you know who I am?" He asked, you shook your head giving him an apologetic look.
"Okay, do you know who he is?" He asked, pointing over to Tony. You nodded your head slowly, his face looked puzzled. "Tony, she remembers you."
"Well, I do make a grand entrance and I'm a snazzy dresser, hard to forget." He quipped back.
"Very funny, Tony." The man sighed, You chuckled to yourself. "What could cause her to forget me and not you?"
"All joking aside, soft term amnesia, selected amnesia. Any head injuries?" Tony asked back slowly rising from his seat. He walked back, and pushed your head back lightly looking into your eyes.
"Steve, I'm sure she's okay, besides not remembering you but we should have Banner look at her when we get back." You tilted your head at the name Steve, you knew it. You lifted your hands and signed Steve, it wasn't finger spelling but a special way you had created you say his name.
Steve smiled at you taking your hands in his. Feelings flooded you as you stared into his eyes, you did know him. Chunks were missing but you knew him. He was one of the first people you were introduced to, and had helped you settle in your new life.
'I think you helped me before, right?' You asked, Steve focused on your hands.
"Yes, I did. And I'll help you again till you remember me."
