Twist of Fate

Amber's smile turned into a frown when she roamed her eyes around the airport but found no trace
of her bestfriend, Blaze. She has been expecting him to fetch her from the airport but to her dismay, he was out of her sight.

He had promised her last week na siya ang magsusundo sa kanya sa airport at siya ring maghahatid sa kanya sa bahay niya like the usual but he was now nowhere to be found. She had tried contacting him but it was always the operator who answered her calls.

Annoyed, she pulled her baggage and walked hastily out of the airport's entrance to hail a taxi.

It took almost fifteen minutes for a cab to pull over in front of where she stood.

"Finally!" she muttered exasperatedly.
She was so exhausted from the sixteen-hour flight. Dumagdag pa sa weariness niya ang hindi pagsipot ng nag-iisang bestfriend niyang lalaki na nangako pa sa kanya na siyang magsusundo sa kanya pero hindi naman nito ginawa.

She was so tired that all she wanted to do was to lay her body on her water bed as soon as she gets home.

She was about to get in the cab when a tall and not so muscular guy suddenly got in instead of her.

D*ng! Ang lakas naman ng loob ng lalaking ito na unahan siya sa pagsakay sa loob ng taxi na siya mismo ang pumara!

"To the San Nicholas Church, Manong!" she heard him told the taxi driver in an urgent manner.

Hindi naman tumalima si Manong. He was looking at Amber with confusion on his face like he was torn between the two of his passengers.

"Hey jerk!" she tried calling the attention of the ill-mannered passenger but it was like he never heard her or sadyang nagbingi-bingihan lang ito.

"Hey as*hole! How dare you get in this cab when in fact I was the one who hailed it?" she uttered in an angered voice. Swear kumukulo talaga ang dugo niya rito.

Wala siyang pakialam kung nag-iiskandalo na siya sa labas ng airport at nakakahatak na siya ng atensyon ng bawat taong dumadaan. All she wanted to do was to give this birdbrain a lesson. Hindi porque babae siya ay hahayaan niyang ganoonin siya nito 'no?

Ang disente at ang gwapo pa naman nitong tingnan sa suot nitong suit and tie tapos parang basura naman ang ugali! Hmmp!

"Hey Missy! Look, I've got no time for any arguments now. Can't you see? I am in a hurry. I have a wedding to attend to so just let me take this cab first," impatient na saad nito.

"So what do you think of me, not in a hurry?" may himig sarkasmong sagot niya rito. "Gosh, I've waited for like fifteen minutes for a cab then what? Ang lakas ng loob mong unahan ako! How rude can you get?" She grabbed her sunglasses off her eyes and squinted her eyes at him.

She heard him gasped but seconds later the rude guy made known his annoyance as he blew a harsh breath.

"Ganito na lang po Miss at Mister, bakit hindi na lang ho kayo sumakay pareho. Wala naman hong problema sa akin at ihahatid ko naman ho kayo kung saan kayo pupunta," magalang na singit ng driver.

"No!" they said in unison.

"Paandarin niyo na ho 'tong taxi. I'll double the fare, triple even, Manong so get the engine started and never bother this grouchy woman."

"How dare you!"
Mas lalo yatang nag-init ang bumbunan niya dahil sa narinig. Aba'y hindi lang pala bastos ang lalaking ito, arogante at mayabang pa!

Grrr. . . Ang sarap patikimin ng mag-asawang sampal ang makinis at maputing pagmumukha nito!

"Pasensiya na ho, Miss. Mukhang nagmamadali na ho si Sir eh. Huwag ho kayong mag-alala, marami pa naman hong dadaang taxi," hinging paumanhin ng taxi driver bago pinaandar palayo ang sasakyan.
