Chapter 7

After breakfast Neil and Avni were sitting in the balcony as Neil wanted to talk about something important.

Avni - I did some mistake ? ( innocently ).

Neil - Who said that ?

Avni - You want to talk to me about something. So I thought ... ( Neil cuts her off ).

Neil - So you thought that you have committed some mistake that's why I wanted to talk to you. Right.

Avni looks down.

Neil - Why you always try to degrade yourself when you are one of the most innocent and pure soul I met in my whole life.

Avni - I am not..

Neil - You are and someday you will love yourself.

Avni - Why you took leave from police station?

Neil - For spending time with my bestie. ( smiling ).

Avni - You are lying, Prakash uncle is not here so you don't want to leave me alone. Please don't compromise with your lifestyle Neil. I won't do anything wrong. I promise.

Neil - You know what Avni, there is one thing called trust that you don't have on yourself but I have that trust on you that you won't do anything that will hurt us. ( smiling ).

Neil - Now leave all this and listen to me very carefully. Okay.

Avni nods.

Neil -  You stole money from various shops for buying your drugs. Right ?

Avni looks down feeling ashamed of herself.

Neil - Avni look at me. You need not to feel guilty for your past acts. All you need is determination for facing your fears and addictions.

Avni looks at him with teary eyes. Neil wipes her tears.

Neil - These tears are the symbol of weakness and my Avni is not weak.

Avni smiles.

Neil - That's like my girl. ( pulls her cheeks gently.) You have to return back the money you stole from those shopkeepers with a sorry letter.

Avni - From where I will get money Neil.. ( hyper ) I will ...

Neil - Calm down baba. Relax. I will help you in earning money.

Avni - How  will I  earn money ? ( confused.)

Neil - Dad told me that you are an amazing painter.

Avni - I was,  not now.

Neil - You are, talent never fades but sometimes our confidence breaks due to which  we are not able to recognise the talented person hiding inside us. ( smiles ).

Avni - Do you think that I would be able to make paintings again ?

Neil - Yes, I have full faith on you. ( smiles ).

Avni - If you are saying then I will definitely make a perfect painting because you can't say anything wrong. ( She says innocently ).

Neil was having tears in his eyes after listening her words. He have earned her trust within two days, he was the happiest person at this moment. He composed himself and cupped her face.

Neil - Thank you Avni.

Avni - Why thank you ? I should thank you for coming into my life. ( innocently ).

Neil smiles and caress her face gently.

Neil - So, you will make a painting today and I will pay you money for that. In short I will be your customer. I hope you won't mind. ( smiles )

Avni - Who will say no to this sweet customer. ( She giggles )

He smiles seeing her happy.

Neil - After that you will make a sorry card and return the money to the shopkeeper. You will also apologise to them for your deeds.

Avni - What if they file a complaint against me ? ( fearful).

Neil - When the ACP will be standing beside you then no-one will dare to harm you. I will be there with you for handling the situation. Don't worry.

Avni - You will be there with me. You won't leave me naa. ( innocently )

Neil - I won't leave you Avni. Never.

Avni smiles.

Neil got up and forward his hand towards her, she grabs his hand gently and gets up from the chair. They both go inside hand in  hand and Neil opens a room. Avni gets shocked after seeing the room.

The room was having pictures of Ashish, Avni and Prakash. All her happy childhood memories were displaying on the front wall. All the material required for painting was arranged there properly. Avni's eyes welled up and she hugs Neil. Neil smiles seeing her gesture and hugs her gently as if she's a fragile doll.

Avni breaks the hug.

Avni - Thank you for everything Neil. ( smiling in tears. )

Neil - Anything for you bestie. Now go and start your work. Your inspiration is displaying on the wall. These happy memories will help you in making a beautiful painting for your first customer. ( smiles )

Avni - You are also my inspiration Neil  and I will prove you that.

Neil smiles and left the room for giving her a chance to connect with herself through her creativity.

Neil -  ( to himself )She will love herself after finding her lost  passion.

Neil came to his room and sat there remembering all the sweet memories he created with Avni.

Neil - Why am I getting so much attached to her ? Well even I don't know but I can't see her in pain. It's like her happiness is mine happiness.

He shrugs away his thoughts and concentrates on his work. Though he wasn't able to focus on the laptop opened in front of him but he tried to focus on his work. Finally after alot of struggle he did that but somewhere his mind was still wandering around Avni.
