I was on my way to my younger sister's school to fetch her when someone accidentally bumped me..

"Ow! You should've watched your way!" I exclaimed.

"Oh, I'm sorry.. I was just in a hurry." he said while picking up his books. "Meanie.." he added, whispering.

"Uhh, did you say something?" I asked. Oh I am so sure he said meanie.

"No, nothing, sorry" and he went away.

"Okay.." I replied not convinced as I also continued my way to fetch my sister.

After I fetched my sister, we went home.

When we arrived, I was surprised to see the same guy who I accidentally bumped earlier. Well, we were both surprised to meet again. I wonder why he's at our house.

I went to my room and changed my clothes when suddenly..

"Brianna, come down a bit" my mom called me and I followed what she said.

I went down and to my surprise 'again', the guy-whom-I-accidentally-bumped was still around with a smile on his face! Oh how cute.

Oh no, did I just say cute? Delete delete.

"Mom, who's that guy and what's he doing here?" I asked my mom.

She replied, "Oh, that's your childhood friend, William! Don't you remember?"

My eyes widened and my mouth formed an 'o' shape. Boy, I sure got surprised! But.. I shrieked more when I saw his face.. smiling! And yeah, mom's smiling widely too! Like nothing is really surprising! Oh great. I'm so out of place.

Like, what the heck? He.. he..? Is that him? Why didn't I recognize his face before? Darnit! Well, who could tell? When he was younger, he usually looks like a kid who always gets bullied. Sometimes, he looks so disgusting with mud on his shirt, untied shoelaces, snotty nose & messy hair. Pfft

I got back to reality when I heard him say..

"Hey, don't you remember me?"

"Uhh, I don't. I mean, I.. didn't! 'Til now.." I replied.

"Oh I see. Nah, it's alright" he chuckled.

Damn! That laugh!

When we were younger, he made me a promise..

- flashback

"Hey Brianna! When we grow up, I promise you, I'll change! I'll be the best guy you'll ever know!" he said while picking up the shells from the sand.

"Oh? I don't think so.." I disagreed.

"Well, aside from your father!" he continued.

"Okay.. But why?" I asked.

"'Cause I've decided! like I've told you, when we grow up, I'll be the perfect guy for you! I'll be your groom & you'll be my bride!" he proudly said with a sweet smile on his face which is perfect for his wavy, dirty blonde hair & rosy cheeks.

"Okay then. Pinky swear?" I assured him as I pointed my pinky to him.

"Pinky swear!" we both nodded and smiled as the wind blew our hair. He laughed when my hair covered my face.

- end

"Now, do you remember our  promise?" he asked, emphasizing the word our.

"I.. I don't know.." I replied hesitantly.

"What?" he asked with a big 'question mark' written on his face, indicating that he's confused.

"I said, I don't know.. "

"W..why?"

"'Cause we were kids back then.."

"Oh.. well then, will you let me prove to you that my feelings had never changed?" he asked with a persevering aura.

"Hmm.. I guess, it's alright.." I said as I smiled shyly. Hmm.. give this childhood memories a shot? Why not, right?
