*Peeta's POV*

When I arrived back in District Twelve, Haymitch warned me about how Katniss had been acting lately. He said that she had been having troubles with coping with the Rebellion, causing her to shut herself in her room most of the time. He also mentioned that sometimes, even Greasy Sae couldn't get Katniss out to eat. I decided to go to her house to make her my famous cheese buns, not knowing how she would react to seeing the rehabilitated me.

Katniss came down the stairs less cautious than she should be at the sound of someone clanging around in her kitchen. I guess she was just assuming that the person making such a racket was Greasy Sae on her morning run to make sure for Haymitch that Katniss was at least eating something.

"Peeta?" Katniss asked, more defensively than I would've hoped.

"Uh, hey. I came over to make you some cheese buns."

"Peeta, when did you get back?"

"My train came in half an hour ago. Haymitch thought it best if you didn't know."

Why did I tell her that! Now she'll blame Haymitch for my being here. The one time I have to say the wrong words, and it's with Katniss! People told me that I used to love her very much, and I can see why. Her long brown hair falls past her shoulders in waves like a waterfall cascading down from a high cliff. Her olive skin and grey eyes remind me of when I first saw her; when I first fell in love with Katniss Everdeen.

It was the first day of school, and I was with my father while she was with her parents. My dad pointed Katniss and her mother out and said, "You see that little girl over there? I wanted to marry her mother."

"Why didn't you, Papa?"

"Well, Peeta, she married that boy from the Seam."

"I don't know why she would've when she could've had you."

At that moment, I looked from Mrs. Everdeen to Katniss, and was in awe. Never had I seen someone as beautiful as her. She had her hair in two braids instead of her usual one, and with her was her baby sister, who I soon found out was little Prim.

Remembering Prim hurt, and I realised that I was still talking to Katniss. I hadn't known that I was crying until Katniss came up to me.

"Peeta, are you alright? Are you... having a flashback?"

"Yeah, I mean no. I'm not having a flashback. I'm just remembering everything that we've lost thanks to the war. Including Prim."

Katniss starts to sob uncontrollably at the mention of Prim. I don't really know what to do for her, so I start to leave her house to give her some privacy.

"I'm sorry, Katniss. I shouldn't have brought that up," I mutter.

Before I can close the front door of Katniss's house, she comes up to me and gives me a huge hug. "You love me, real or not real?"

I remember this game. It's the one we played while fighting our way to the Capitol to help me regain my memory. But this question doesn't seem like a game to me. It seems like a genuine question that Katniss has just asked.

Before I can think, or even question what I'm about to say, the words spill out of my non-hijacked mouth. "Real. Katniss, I could never see you in this much pain, and you know that I'm here for you. Always. Remember? Even though I may not be clear on everything that's happened in my life, and that I may not be clear on what all has happened between us, I do know that deep down, I really do love you. And I'll love you forever, Miss Everdeen.

Author's note: Okay, I know that I didn't follow the exact storyline in each perspective, but I feel like both of these chapters needed to be put in here. When I have access to a computer, I'll go through it again, and edit it so that it makes more sense. Either way, I hope you guys like this so far! If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know, because my writer's block is bound to kick in at any moment now.
