The Goodbye Scene (Criminal Minds Fan Fic)

Chapter Eleven

It had been two weeks after receiving the rose. I threw it out as soon as Reid was out of sight, not wanting it anywhere near me. I knew that if I told JJ, she would pressure me even more to tell Hotch and Reid.

I met up with Reid at work; he seemed preoccupied with something so I hesitated on telling him about the rose. He deserved to know, especially when they had been leaving me things at his apartment too.

JJ walked past me, causing me to call her over. She smiled upon seeing me, but her expressions changed once she noticed how I was looking at her. She walked over, picking up the pace.

‘’Another one?’’ She asked

‘’It was two weeks ago, I didn’t want to mention it. He left a rose for me at the hospital’’ I stammered

‘’I need to tell Hotch’’ JJ insisted, walking off

‘’JJ wait’’ I urged

‘’I need to do it’’ I quickly added

JJ seemed convinced enough that I’d go through with telling Hotch, she soon left as she had some cases to deal with. I pretended to walk towards Hotch’s office, slipping away once she was out of sight.

I knew how badly I had to tell everyone, but I didn’t want Reid getting dragged into this.

Reid was now walking towards me, angry. I sighed, hoping JJ hadn’t told him. I swallowed hard and stumbled out of my seat as Reid finally reached me. I held onto the arm of my chair, not completely standing up.

‘’You didn’t press charges?!’’

 I sigh of relief washed over me as I let go of the chair and stood to face him. He got even angrier as I didn’t offer him an explanation. I could feel people watching us, especially Garcia as she worried about everyone and everything.

‘’Eve’’ Reid spoke

I was brought back to reality as I stared at Reid standing before me.

‘’Why didn’t you press charges?’’ He asked, seeming calmer

‘’I just…I just want to forget about it’’ I replied

‘’Eve, I love you, I’m worried that there’s this guy out that there that hurt you and you don’t want to him put in jail’’ Reid replied

‘’You love me?’’

‘’What…I..’’ He stammered

I was blushing uncontrollably as he stammered up an excuse.

‘’I love you too’’ I replied

He was smiling, pulling me towards him by the waist to kiss me. I looked around, making sure nobody had seen; then laughing as I realised Rossi was the only one in the dark about our secret relationship.

JJ walked past me again, making the assumption that I had broke the news as she saw me and Reid were hugging. I was planning on tell her that I hadn't told him yet, but Reid pulled me along to the supply closet.

''This isn't like you'' I said, laughing

He didn't reply, only kissing me.

Anderson knocked on the door of the supply closet, I tried to hide as did Reid; but he walked in before there was a suitable space to take cover.

''Seriously?'' He replied

Reid shrugged as Anderson rolled his eyes and left. We both started laughing inbetween kisses. I realised the time and broke it off, walking out of the supply closet to find JJ so I could tell her before she got to Hotch.
