The Welcoming

Chapt 23. (Ash p.o.v)

Before I knew it I was back in my room. Daylight was creeping around the corner and I was in bed clutching my pillow to my chest. "What did I do wrong? I thought we were having fun!" These are just some of the questions I asked myself as I replayed the event in my head over and over again.

I had so many questions. I felt more lost then anything. "Who is Dia? Why did he get so emotional when we reached that cave?....what top secret assignment did he go in that he couldn't tell me about....granted we aren't that close so he doesn't have to tell me but I felt like we were....f...."

"MEOWWWWWWWWWWWW" kitty let out a loud cat noise before tackling me on my bed. "HI BABES!" She was so happy and rubbing her face on me like a real cat would if they wanted attention.

"Hi kitty" I laughed and hugged her.

"So I know you didn't notice me but I been watching you for the pass 6 minutes and you were just completely lost in thought..." she sat up and looked at me "what's going on girl?"

I shifted trying to find a comfortable position and looked at her while hugging my pillow. When I was about to say something I remembered I promised Jordan I wouldn't tell anyone about the secret he showed me today. "I....I can't tell you." I cleared my throat hugging my pillow tighter to my chest.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine! A secret for a secret." She jumped out my bed and went over to her dresser. She rummaged through it and pulled out a letter and looking at it almost deep in thought. "If I show you this you have to swear it will never leave this room."

I nodded not knowing what could be so serious it made kitty of all people keep it a secret. She gave me the letter then explained. "After my sister disappeared I was really depressed. All I could think of was how to make it out of this hell hole. But about a month before you showed. Almost 3 years after her going missing I got this letter. At first I thought it couldn't be her....it couldn't be true but..." she touched her shirt and grabbed a outline of a necklace laying under it. "...there's no other way it can't be her."

I just looked at the letter in my hands. Refusing to pull out the sheets hiding in the dingy old envelope. "I'll read it later. I see it means a lot to you." I don't know why but I couldn't bring myself to read it. To bring what ever lied in that envelope to life. I don't know. Just something in me didn't want me to do it yet.

"Jorden...and I...."I couldn't even get the sentence out before she squealed and jumped to conclusions. "YOU'RE DATING OMG I KNEW..."

I covered her mouth laughing. "We aren't dating... it's just...." I explained everything. From the gate to the cave. I got it all off my chest and I looked to her for answers while she looked confused as hell.

"Now that I think about it. There was a kid...he seemed weird even for this place....he called me dia and before I could respond lime
scared him off..." now I was even more confused then before. Do I look like a girl who used to go here? What happened to her? Can I talk to her?

Kitty just looked at me with a blank expression. "You know...it's late why don't we get some rest and start fresh tomorrow?" She looked at me half tired as hell and half this is a conspiracy theory in the making.

I just smiled. "Of course" she jumped in her bed and we said night to each other before eventually passing out.

It's hard to think that even while getting to know this place I'm left more confused then I began. I wonder if I'll ever find answers.
