- Upper levels of Koto, Rustbog region, some time after General Tozen's defeat... -
Apollyon: (Narrating) The city was open. There was one warrior among that could have prevented that disaster. A single orochi, locked in a prison cell for years. That imprisonment was about to come to an end.
The city of Koto is ablaze. Its defenders broken and all its champions dead, all but one. The Daimyō of the Fujiwara Ayu, Okuma, and Momiji seize this opportunity to break into prison and free their only hope: Hideyoshi Azai, the greatest swordsman in the land and their old friend.
Azai: (Narrating) "Home. We Samurai lost our home long ago. Now, to us, the word means something different. We made a new home. But we have to fight to hold it."
Fujiwara forces were being decimated as the Vikings breach yet another level of the city of Koto. The Imperial Army survivors have been wiped out at the lower levels, leaving the Fujiwara to fend the marauders off. The Viking horde slaughters all Samurai that stand in their way, setting fire to buildings and looting resources.
The Orochi: (voiceover) "I wasn't going to be fighting anyone from inside a prison cell." The view cuts to the prison. Ayu, Okuma, and Momiji approach the front gate. Okuma smashes the gate down and the three enter. "But my friends - my Daimyo - saw and opportunity and took it."
Soon, the three Fujiwara Samurai exit the prison, securing the entrance. Hideyoshi Azai, the Emperor's Champion who was imprisoned there years ago, is now free once more.
Azai sees the city of Koto burning to the ground. Immediately, his instincts tell him to go and save what he can.
Azai: "They're burning the city!" He says as he seizes the katana that was handed to him by Momiji and walks towards the ledge.
Ayu: "Were leaving!" The Fujiwara daimyō says to Azai, who briefly ignored her as he stops by the ledge. "I said we're leaving. Let's go." He says to him once more. Azai looks at her with determination in his eyes.
