Apollyon: (Narrating) "All the lands are washed with Viking looters. Our own Legions war against one another. And now, the Emperor's Champion knocks at my door, with an army. This will be a day for wolves."
- Days later... -
The final assault has already begun. The last of the Shard's defenses are threatening to fall as Iron Legion artillery batter the walls and crush the unfortunate. It was horrid sight, but one that must be done. Today will be the day that changes everything, and all were anxious if they will succeed or not.
(Argen) Lorderius and Janna Goldfire are leading the Lightshield Cohort and the Knights of the Embers in an all-out assault from the northern flanks. The combined might of the armies of disciplined and experienced soldiers and Knights struggled against the fanatical spirit of the Blackstone horde, but they prevailed at every encounter and captured castle after castle.
(Argen) was leading another charge with Janna, but they are ambushed by a larger contingent of Blackstones countercharging towards them. They were unprepared, and they can only watch as a Lawbringer attempted to stab Alyssa through her torso.
Alyssa tried to fight the stronger opponent but she was slowly being overpowered as the spearhead pierce through her cloth armor, causing blood to flow from the wound. Janna immediately ran towards the Lawbringer and bash him away, allowing Alyssa to escape death.
Alyssa: "Thank you, sister." She tells Janna who nods before facing the Lawbringer. Alyssa then turned towards (Argen). "Go, brother. We'll hold them off." She tells him.
This has been happening several times already. They had to leave their friends so that they can advance further into the fortress to hopefully cut off reinforcements. Ademar, Davius, Laelius, Hirtzel, and several others had to stay to hold the Blackstones away from them. (Argen) didn't want to, but he had to. For one last time, he reluctantly agreed.
(Argen): "Just hold on, sisters! The others will catch up to you!" He tells her. He isn't sure whether that is true or not as their friends may as well be dead. He still clings to hope that they can somehow get through.
Alyssa: "Go! Find Apollyon! End this carnage once and for all!" Alyssa shouts before raising her longsword to strike down an enemy.
With no other choice, (Argen) and the remaining Lightshields rushed to clog the reinforcement routes. Beside all their struggles, (Argen's) plan is working. Their assault has alarmed the defenders and scrambled to fight off their advance amidst the chaos, and this will hopefully assist the Samurai attacking from the South, although this also meant taking on death itself.
Unknown to everyone, the Warborn Vikings have already crossed Ashfeld's borders days prior to this final battle.
On the south, Shimazu Samurai and Iron Legion Knights under Holden Cross have begun their assault. With artillery support, the enemy lines shattered quickly despite fierce resistance, and this allowed them to breach the southern walls.
Apollyon, now backed into a corner with no escape went out to personally lead the remainder of the Blackstone Legion under her command.
Apollyon: "Reinforcements! Do not lose this courtyard!" She shouts to her lieutenants. A Warden runs up to her with news.
Blackstone: "The Samurai have breached the second gate!" He informs her. Apollyon and her lieutenants moved to fight of the Samurai.
