Been watching the 2015 footage of what could've been For Honor, which I put up there. It's such a beautiful gameplay. Anyways, I've been watching it to have a better feel on the combat and translate it here as a written event. I won't put too many of it since it is admittedly boring, but the important battles will be there. Anyways, enjoy Chapter 3!
Take the disclaimer. You will need it...
I do not, in any way, own For Honor or any resources that might make an appearance here. If I did, I would've added a Korean faction.
====================
Apollyon: (Narrating) "I expected the Samurai civil war to last for years, not days. Nothing unites like a common enemy. The Vikings had not had time to escape the Myre with their bounty. That Orochi, Ayu and their allies, set out to try to stop them."
- North Fenlode, a few hours later... -
Azai: (Narrating) "I followed Apollyon's trail into the Myre. I was searching for Ayu..."
Azai walks into the docks that was full of corpses of ashigaru from different clans. He approaches and kneels beside a Shugoki that seemed to be a part of the Oda. He turns the Shugoki's fly-infested corpse over, recognising it to be Kizan.
Apollyon: (Narrating) "What impressed me most about the daimyō Ayu was her ruthlessness. Yet, she lies to herself about her reasons for what she did. I believe it was unimaginable to her that she simply wanted power."
Azai: "Well, well, well. Do you know where Ayu is?" He asks the dead Shugoki hypothetically.
He soon hears a horn blaring from the distance. That was Viking horn. Azai gets up and goes to investigate. He moves through the settlement's path that leads towards the swamp.
Azai: (In thoughts) "Hope Ayu is still alive!"
He passes by a building. Inside was a Sergeant and a couple of marauders. They spot him and attack him. Azai dodged an attack from the Sergeant. He broke the Viking's guard and threw him to one of the marauders while he killed the other with a clean cut in the throat. The Sergeant recovers and attacks the Orochi again, but it was parried and he was stabbed backwards by the superior swordsman. Azai kills the other marauder before moving on, passing by a small archway near a small cave.
Apollyon: (Narrating) "Death waits for us at the end of every road. Somewhere out there, each person has an enemy who will bring about their end. A warrior does not let that knowledge interfere with their duty."
He sees more torii gates to the right. Following the path where they lay, he finds a shrine. There, he finds Mogami Ranja, bloodied and dead.
Apollyon: (Narrating) "I offered the Emperor's throne to twenty daimyō. Five proved willing to say they would take it, to an enemy they knew was untrustworthy. Five liars. Five cowards. I had been hoping for more."
As he observed the shrine, a shout from a Viking was heard. It wasn't a battle cry or anything, but rather that of pain. Azai turns around with his sword drawn only to see a Shield Sergeant struggling helplessly to remove what looks like a sickle on his neck. The sickle was pulled forcefully by a chain connected to it, slitting the throat of the Viking. Tracing the source of the chain, he sees a person dressed in all black and red, watching him. The person promptly left without a word. He is bewildered of the encounter, yet something is telling him that he knows who that man is. He will have to think about it later, though.
