CHAPTER 3: Friend
——————————

Milkshakes. Those are the only things that Killua definitely isn't craving for at the moment and even if he's up for those, he wouldn't want to have them with Y/N. Sadly, life just has to treat him unfairly.

"Listen, Y/N. I've been wondering something for a while," Killua calls as he scratches his head, expressing the fact that he's hesitant, "I don't know what made you come here. I heard this is a very prestigious school and judging from your personality, I don't know if you'll be able to cope with the lessons."

A short pause.

"You haven't seen what I'm capable of, Killua," Y/N says with a smile before they take another sip of their milkshake.

"Don't judge others from the outside. Who knows, you may be much more of an idiot than I am," they add whilst glaring at the boy before him.

Killua flinches, astonished by Y/N's unexpected response. He really doesn't see that coming, especially not from one of the most cheerful people he knows. He raises his hands, signaling that he has surrendered which results in Y/N flashing a satisfied grin.

"But seriously, Y/N. I'm pretty worried about you. You barely paid any attention to the classes and it's only been a week since we first stepped into this school," Killua speaks once again.

"You're worried about me? Why that's so sweet of you! Aw—okay you're actually being serious, I'll stop joking around."

Y/N clears their throat.

"Don't worry, Killu. I'm one hundred percent positive that I'll pass the subjects," Y/N assures as they wink at him. The both of them then proceed on drinking their milkshakes.

"By the way, Killu, can I copy your Math homework?"

Oh my God.

Killua's expecting a long rest after his small hangout after school with Y/N but here he is, video calling Gon while he's feeling extremely exhausted.

"It's been a while, Killua," Gon says on the other line. Killua looks at his screen to see a smiling Gon.

"Yeah," Killua scratches his head, "it has."

"How's school, Killua? I'm sure you've made a lot of friends there, since you're so cool and all."

"Um," Killua hums, "no, actually. I've only made one friend so far."

"Ah, really?" Gon's eyes widen for a second, "tell me more about them!"

"I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or fate but we actually sat beside each other on the airplane," Killua begins, "they were annoying at first but–"

Killua feels his eyes soften.

"I'm actually glad to have them by my side."
