CHAPTER TEN: To love each other

It feels like as if Killua's world stopped. The way his heart starts to beat in a faster pace, his mind goes completely blank– unable to make up any words for him to say and the way his whole body just completely freezes.

Killua admits, without a doubt, that he has been gaining feelings for Y/N as well but why– why is it that he feels nervous to hear that from his crush? won't any other people feel happy to receive the response they've been dreading for?

"That doesn't really explain why you've been avoiding me these days, Y/N."

"I'm sorry," Y/N whispers. "I'm just– I don't know, scared? Is that the right term to explain the way I've been feeling? I don't know."

Killua's eyes widen before he starts to chuckle, receiving a confused look from Y/N. After a good two minutes of laughing, he steps forward and pulls Y/N into a hug– letting a hand rest on their head.

"You're such a dork," Killua says in a gentle tone, his eyes softening when Y/N starts hugging back. "But that's the reason why I like you too."

There's a moment of silence before Y/N breaks out of the hug, palming Killua's cheek. "So what do we do now– that we've confessed to each other?"

Killua lets out a short hum.

"How about we take it slow, hm? I still want to get to know you more before we make it official."

"Ah– yes! of course, I don't mind," Y/N beams up. "But–"

"Hm? what is it?"

"Can I kiss you?"

Killua feels a smile curl up on his face, letting his fingers lift up Y/N's face by their chin delicately before he presses his lips onto theirs.
