CHAPTER THIRTEEN: My heart swells
_________________It has been a month since Y/N and Killua's school break ended and to no surprise, the moment they start again, they are already bombarded with work.
As expected from the prestigious shitty school. Killua quietly commented during a seminar, Y/N had to try their best to suppress their laughter (they failed.)
That was how Y/N got in trouble.
While the other students walk out of school, smiles coated on their faces as they initiate lengthy conversations with their friends, Y/N stays behind with a broom in their hand. It's oddly short, barely reaching their hips.
Killua leans against the doorframe and waits for Y/N to finish as he watches them sweep the classroom; their body is forced to slightly bend down, balancing their height to that of the broom's.
"See, this is why you don't interrupt the principal's speech," Killua sneers, chuckling when he sees a popped vein on Y/N's face.
"It's not my fault you made me laugh!"
Killua's shoulders shrug, he shoves his hand into his pocket and pulls out his phone; Y/N hears his choco-robo charm jingle, and then an idea pops in their head.
Y/N sprints towards Killua, snatches his phone and goes through his playlist, ignoring the repeated complaints from him and noticing them stop once the slow music fills in the void. Merry Go Round of life.
Y/N reaches their hand out, no words needed for Killua to fully understand what they have in mind, so he takes a grasp of their waist, closes the gap between them and lets Y/N's arms circle his neck.
They bury their face by the crook of Killua's neck and comes up with a conclusion– Killua doesn't smell like chocolate, like how they expect him to; he smells like the first breath of fresh air on a Saturday morning; he smells like relief, a sense of comfort; he reeks of home.
"If you didn't decide to slow dance then we wouldn't have to cancel our study date."
Y/N turns their head towards Killua, beaming up possibly the happiest grin Killua has seen. "But I got something even better."
Killua rolls his eyes and doesn't respond. He looks away but despite the darkness and their only light source being the street lights, Y/N catches his bright pink ears.
You're lucky I like you. They swear they hear him mumble to himself.
