Yami's POV (eight years old)

The day passed by quickly like any other days and it's already past midnight. I know that I'm awake waaay past my bedtime but I was reading and nothing can get me distracted. I decided to finally put away my book, I was about to get in bed when I heard a bloodcurdling scream from next door. I looked out of my bedroom window to see random bodies lying around the streets.

I know that both my parents were passed out on the sofa because they were working for five days straight. I hurried out of my room when I heard the front door got slam open, as I was running down the stairs to the living room I heard my mum shouted "YAMI!! Don't come downstairs!!! Run away!!!"

I didn't know what to do so I did as I was told and ran back upstairs and jumped out my window, somehow I landed without getting hurt and started to run through the backstreets.

I waited until the sun rises up and that the streets were brighter so I can come out of my hiding place, the first place I head to is of course my home.

I opened the front door slowly and saw two dead bodies in the living room (guess it ain't a "living" room anymore... wrong timing?). I was surprised that I didn't break down right then and there, my instinct took over and I ran to the house of my mum's best friend, Biscuit Krueger, aka Bisky. I found out that the person who killed my parents is from the Phantom Troupe and uses a katana thanks to the neighbors. Life flew by since then, you trained everyday and mastered nen and a lot of other techniques.

3rd POV

Yami's childhood are not like others, she got permission from Bisky to become a solo assassin who only kill criminals for experience when she was 10. She became a famous assassin because every target is an A-class criminal. She then gained the name silhouette because no one has ever seen her in action kill and no traces of the killer was ever found. She spent her time in eliminating criminals until...

Bisky gave Yami a challenge, it is to become floor master in heavens arena within a month, right before her eleventh birthday. If she succeed then she earn her independence, but if she failed she will receive a punishment and can only live independently after the hunter exam. She had fail to complete in time due to a very high fever and ended up with 8 wins and 1 lose. Frustrated as she was, she still had to receive the punishment, which is to survive on Whale Island alone for a year while doing self training every day. Yami learned a lot about herbs and other useful information because she decided to live in the mountains, but as she get ready to leave for the hunters exam, that's when the adventure really starts.
