Departure x And x Friends

Yami POV

It's the day to depart from Whale Island so I woke up early and say my goodbyes to the animals I've been living with for the past year. I am definitely gonna miss them especially because the little ones were very attached to me.

I pack a lot with me but made sure it's light, I brought a bag with two extra pairs of clothing, some food and containers, water, money, herbs, toiletries and both my favourite black hoodie and cloak for when I go on an assassin mission or just want to hide my face. I was wearing a white tank top with a black hood jacket, dark grey leggings and black combat boots, I hid some weapons (mainly daggers)in my clothes and don't forget that I have chains attach to my side.

I boarded the boat early so I decided to take a nap on top of a sail. After a while, seagulls started to crowd near where I was napping and woke me up. I heard someone said "A storm's coming" and went on full alert. I took a look at the seagulls and noticed that the kid was right. I took a sniff of the ocean air and quickly jump up.

"The kid's right, and it's going to be a very big storm." I shouted from where I was and jumped straight down.

The captain looked surprise by my sudden entrance and stare into my eyes. He realized that the both of us were telling the truth and took over sailing the boat. Once the storm was near, the ship was rocking side to side. A lot of the passengers were sea sick, I want to help provide some of my herbs but I have a limited amount and decide to save them for greater injuries. I look around at all the hunter wannabes and stifle a laugh, nearly all of them look dead, nearly. The kid from earlier was helping around and providing herbs.

"I hope the kid have some herbs left for himself, I don't want such a nice kid to die or suffer." I thought as I look around again. There was a guy who looks older than me lying on a hammock while reading, "hmmm, I wonder if he has a recommendation or two.", and an old man eating apple on the side. I took note of the possible competitors or friends I can make during the trip and noticed the captain at the door, probably looking for tough nuts. We were then called to follow him.

"First, tell me your names." the captain said while eyeing the four of us. The kid that's taller than me by a few centimeters introduced himself as Gon, the blonde kid as Kurapika, and the old man as Leorio.

"I'm Yami, nice to meet you." I said with a smile.

"Why do you want to become Hunters?" the captain asked.

"Hey! If you're not an examiner, you can't boss us around!" Leorio said as he pointed at the captain, clearly ticked off.

"Just answer the question!" the captain said calmly.

"My dad is a Hunter. I left Whale Island because I want to know why my dad desired so much to be a Hunter." Gon said confidently.

"My reason is similar. Both my mum and dad were blacklist hunters and I want to be like them." I said while looking at the captain in the eye.

"Were?" he questioned.

"They were killed and I want to give my "thanks"(notice the sarcasm) to the murderer." I said with my poker face.

"Is it for revenge?" asked the captain again.

"No, I don't hate the person" I answered.

"And what are you going to do once you give your "thanks"?" the captain asked, seemed to be amused.

"I'll go around the world and train/learn. There's too much that I want to learn even I, personally, couldn't keep track" I answered with a smile.

"Hey kid! You're not suppose to answer his question!" Leorio said.
