The x Exam x Starts!

Yami's POV

The atmosphere in the exam site/tunnel is quite... unique.

"Strange atmosphere down here." Leorio said out loud.

"They clearly differ from the Hunter applicants we saw at the port and in the city. Each is a master, in their own right..." Kurapika noted.

"Excuse me..." Gon started but he noticed that no one in the room is in a mood to talk. "Everyone's really tense."

"Hello. Please take a number." A bean in suit approached us.

He handed Leorio tag 403, Kurapika 404, Gon 405 and me 406. I recognised the bean as the assistant of the chairman from Bisky.

"Be sure you wear this on your chest at all times. Be careful not to lose it" Bean-san said and walked away.

"Haven't see you guys around before." a voice said when I was putting my tag on my jacket. I looked up and see a fat guy sitting on top of something. "Yo." he greeted with a smile.

"I have a real bad feeling about this guy, I smell poison on him"

"You can tell we're new?" asked Gon.

"More or less." he said and jumped down towards us. "After all, this will be my thirty-fifth attempt."

"Thirty-five times?!" all of us said out loud.

"Is that really something for you to be proud of?"

"Well, you could say I'm an exam veteran. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me." no.16 said.

"He's being way too friendly for someone we just met."

"My name is Tonpa." he introduced himself.

"I'm Gon." and they shook hands.

"You can call me Yami and this is Spade." I said as I come out from behind Gon with Spade.

"These are Kurapika and Leorio." Gon then introduced the others.

"Hey, are there others who have taken the exam a bunch of times like you?" Gon asked.

"That's a good way to gain information of the others. Gon's curiosity really helps."

"Well, I have the most experience here, but there are a few others. For instance, there's him. Number 255, Todo, the wrestler. He's unmatched in strength. And he's smarter than he looks. On the other side, we have number 103, Bourbon, the snake charmer. He tends to hold grudges, so you don't want to end up on his bad side." Tonpa said.

"Yay, another person with an animal."

"And then... number 191, Bodoro, the kung fu master. He's getting old, but there still isn't a better martial artist around. Then you have the three brothers, Amori, Imori and Umori. They perform consistently well, thanks to their excellent teamwork. And number 384, Gerreta, the huntsman. He specializes in killing all manner of creatures, by blow dart and club. You should watch out for Spade little girl, who knows, he might get hunted during the exam."

"I would like to see anyone try." I said in a low voice trying not to let out any bloodlust that could bring attention. I looked over to the huntsman and see that he is eyeing Spade, I turned to send a death glare at him, once he noticed my glare, he looked away trying to hide any fear.

"Th-there are many more, but they have taken the test the most times." Tonpa finished, probably intimidated by my glare as well.

"Ahhhhhhh" a scream was heard.
