Sean couldn't breath watching Mark slowly turn the black rose between his fingers. As he turned it back and forth, admiring the rose. The color started to drain from his fingers and down along his wrist. The color vanished under his suit sleeve, reappearing at Mark's neck. Mark suddenly cracked his neck, causing his whole body to instantly change to the dark shadowy look of Darkiplier. Sean licked his dry lips anxiously, his voice shaking a little as he asked softly. "Mark... What's going on?" Mark laid the black rose back down carefully, telling him in a calming deep voice. "I'm afraid Mark hasn't been in the picture for some time. So, I should introduce myself properly to be polite. My name is Damien and I've been watching you for a long time." Sean leaned back in his seat, mumbling under his breath to himself. "I never woke up... I'm still asleep."

Damien smirked, lifting his wine glass to his lips, telling Sean with a small smile. "I can see how you would think that... but no. You are quite awake." Sean lifted his chin defiantly, snapping out. "I don't believe you. You're not real! Mark made you up!" Damien took a small sip from his wine glass, the blood he'd smeared around the rim mixing with the red wine. After his sip, he set the glass down carefully, stating calmly. "Mark didn't 'make me up.' I have always been. I chose him to be my vessel at a young age. Haunted him. Tormented him. Waiting for him to fulfill his promise to me. Instead, I've been pushed aside. Replaced. Mocked. And then he had the gull to not invite me to his little adventure with you. No more. Never again." Sean forced himself to blink, sliding his hand nonchalantly over the table to put his hand closer to his knife. If this was a dream, then he wanted to take control of it the moment he could. He tried to remain calm though, asking Damien genuinely confused. "I don't understand what your talking about."

Damien let out a small sigh, before uttering out under his breath. "Yes, you're right. I'm getting ahead of myself. I should start from the beginning." Damien adjusted his suite jacket, sitting back in his seat more comfortably to eye him and say aloud. "In the beginning this world was only darkness and chaos. Ruled by the most ruthless entities that have ever existed on this planet. I reigned supreme over them all... Until a young upstart lead a rally against me. Many lives were lost is our conquest. Yet, it all came to an unfortunate end. Due to a cosmic event known as the 'big bang', our world changed forever. A star formed and with it new species began to appear in the wake of its... light. I was forced to retreat into the shadows along with my remaining race. Trapped in an endless cycle of fleeing from the light. Until a few of us realized that these new life forms are weak minded. Yet, immune to the dawns light. By possessing a vessel, we attain immunity to the star that you call the sun."

Sean couldn't help hanging on Damien's every word. If this was a dream, than his mind had come up with a fascinating reason for Darkiplier's existence. He was curious about him now. Damien's finger started slowly circling the rim of his wine glass again, continuing on so serenely. "Mark's night terrors weren't some trick of his brain. It was me. I haunted him. Stalked him. Offered him the world. He refused to let me in. So, I turned his life into a living nightmare. Whether Mark knew it or not... He shared a connection to me. Which is why I knew that one day you would be drawn to him. Much like Anti was drawn to me. Mark got sick and I made him promise that if I saved him, that he'd let me in. I removed his tumor... and he let me in. Unfortunately, after I caused the death of a few of his friends in an attempt to find Anti's vessel... He had me exorcized! I waited patiently for my chance to come again. When Mark's frail body gave in to an alcohol issue. Once I again promised to fix it for as price... but he went back on his word!"

Damien's eyes started to turn a bright red as he added in a lot colder. "The moment I saw you, I knew. You were the one. His vessel. Mark befriended you without a second thought. He loved you like a brother. At least, until Mark sensed my intention for you and tried to keep me away from you. Eventually, everyone breaks though. Now my destiny is at hand and there is nothing that he, or you can do to stop me!" Sean snatched the knife, standing up so quickly from his seat that the chair fell back with a loud clatter against the wooden floor. Sean felt like he had heard more than enough. Pointing the knife at Darkiplier, Sean told him sternly. "Well, this has been fun... but I'm going to wake up now." Damien didn't seem the least bit worried or concerned. Damien just raised a curious eyebrow, telling him in a light tone of voice. "Do you understand me? Nobody does... How could you... Where do you think you can go?"
