My Cupid
Jungkook's P.O.V.
"Where's HeeJin? I haven't seen her visiting the class for two days now..." I heard Jimin ask as he entered my classroom.I didn't say anything and kept my eyes on my phone. "I see her in the hallways, but she doesn't seem her usual self. She seems down lately. Did anything happen?"
I put my phone down as I thought of what happened over the weekend. It definitely was my fault that she's acting this way. I haven't talked to her either. I haven't seen her in the hallways, it's probably because she's trying to avoid me.
I probably ruined her happy little world where love mattered to her most. Man, I feel like I just killed cupid. I'm a horrible person.
"Jungkook, tell me what happened," Jimin said.
I sighed again but even louder than the last. I turned to Jimin and stared at his curious expression longing to hear what had happened during the weekend.
"I called her something that hurt her feelings..." I said.
"What did you call her?" He asked.
I looked down at my desk not wanting to repeat those words again. "Come on, Jungkook. It couldn't have been that bad, right?" Jimin urged me to let the words out my mouth.
Jimin kept shaking and shaking my arm while asking me to tell him what I told HeeJin. Eventually, I lost it and ended up yelling.
"Love Psycho! I called her Love Psycho!"
Jimin stopped shaking and just stared at me with widened eyes. I don't know if it was because of the name, or because I suddenly yelled.
"You called her a psycho?" I nodded as I looked down in embarrassment.
Jimin didn't say anything and just stared at me for a while. I looked up to him hoping he would at least say something.
"You really messed up." Was all he said. "She was so patient with you. Man, I really liked her too. Why'd you have to ruin it for yourself Jungkook?" Jimin said before walking out the classroom.
I groaned in frustration as I ruffled my hair not knowing what to do about this. How am I supposed to fix this?
I then heard someone's footsteps near the classroom. I looked up and saw Jimin's head popping out the door. "If you want to talk to her, I think I saw her enter the music room. She goes there practically every lunch" He said as he smiled and waved to me before walking away.
I swear he's a weird Hyung.
I sighed and walked out of class heading towards the music room. As I arrived closer, I heard the strings of the guitar being played. I slowly approached the door and peeked in with the help of the small window on the wooden door.
There I saw her. HeeJin.
Her eyes were closed as her fingers brushed the guitar string. The notes were played perfectly and her soul seemed to be into the song she was playing. Her lips were stuck together as she hummed the beginning of the song.
"Under the tall street light
I'm on my way back home alone
Saying the lonely words, I don't want to go...My footsteps get slower
I go around the neighborhood a few times and in the end
I stand in front of my house and fish for my keysI'm a loner in my noise-less room
Feeling nervous, I turn up the TV volume
But why are those people laughing?
I hope a dark rain falls..."I found the back of my head resting on the wooden door while my eyes were closed letting my ears listen to the song being sung. The meaning of each word had feeling. I don't know if this song represented how she felt or if she was just simply writing a sad song.
Without even realizing it, the door started to open. The fact that my back was leaning on the wooden door resulted in me falling to the ground once it was open. What I didn't know, was that I had brought HeeJin to my misfortune with me.
Once I opened my eyes, I saw her rubbing her forehead with her hand while her eyes were kept closed. We were both laying on the ground side by side. "Ow..." She groaned while her eyes slowly opened to see who caused her to get hurt.
The look in her eyes changed in an instant. I smiled awkwardly as I stared at her emotionless expression. "You sang well..." I said trying to start a conversation.
She sat up and dusted herself. She then stood herself and walked towards her guitar which was resting at the edge of the room. She took it and placed it in its case. Knowing she would leave the room, I immediately stood up and headed towards the door. I closed it and turned around holding my arms out from each side to block her from leaving the room.
HeeJin turned around with her guitar case ready to leave. Her shoulders immediately dropped seeing me in a position forbidding her to leave.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"We need to talk."
"Let me pass." She said approaching me.
"No."
"Jungkook"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Oh, come on! Let me leave!"
"No."
HeeJin then came closer and tried to pass through me. She tried literally everything. Pushing, hitting and even punching, but they were light punches on my chest. My arms were starting to hurt and I ended up grabbing her wrist to stop her from touching me anymore. She looked up at me with this kind of anger in her eyes.
"Isn't there anything else you can say besides 'No'?"
"Yes?"
HeeJin let out a chuckle at my answer and looked down, probably trying to hide her smile. This was the chance I had to apologize.
"I'm sorry for calling you a Psycho. You're clearly way better than that. You're...you're..."
"I'm what?" She asked.
"You're My Cupid."
