I'm Sorry
HeeJin's P.O.V.
"S-She...never came"His words pierced through my heart as I stared at his helpless body shivering in the cold. He was wearing a shirt with no coat to cover him up from the rain.
"W-Why d-didn't you answer my c-calls?" He tried to ask.
"My phone was on silent. I didn't know, I'm sorry..." I said letting the feeling of guilt take over me.
He didn't say anything. I then heard a sniffle followed by coughing. Jungkook was catching a cold. I slowly grabbed his wrist making him stop hugging himself.
"Let's go indoors," I said.
"A-All stores a-are closed..."
I looked at him who was looking down. I sighed and dragged him to the bus stop which had a small place which seemed perfect as shelter from the rain. We entered and sat on the small bench both leaning on the glass behind us. I placed the now-closed umbrella next to me and sighed loudly looking at the rainfall.
"I think the last bus already passed..." I said.
I went through my pocket to find my phone but ended up mentally scolding myself after realizing I left my phone at home.
"Jungkook? Do you have your phone? I left mine at home. We could maybe call a taxi."
"My phone is o-out of c-charge. I tried calling Bora, t-then Jimin Hyung and t-then you with it." He said showing me his phone before shoving it back into his pocket.
I sighed realizing we're stuck here. My head leaned back as I stared out. It was total silence. All we could hear were the droplets of water making a sound as they hit a puddle of water. It was dark out and not many cars were passing by.
A few minutes had passed and I ended up counting the number of the cars that had passed by out of boredom. I suddenly felt a weight on my should. I turned around to see Jungkook sleeping on my left shoulder.
"Jungkook..."
"J-Just f-for a few m-minutes. I've been standing in t-the r-rain for two h-hours" he said slowly falling asleep.
Jungkook's eyes were closed and he was still shivering. His shirt was still wet and he was hugging himself to keep himself warm.
I slowly tried to take my coat off so I wouldn't wake him up. I was struggling a bit because he was sleeping on my shoulder, but I succeeded anyway. I placed the coat on Jungkook using it as a blanket for him. He seemed to not be shivering anymore which was good. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled although he couldn't hear me.
I kept staring at the rain as I waited for a taxi to pass by. It's probably the only way to get home. My eyes started to feel droopy. They were closing by themselves even though I was trying hard not to sleep.
I unfortunately failed.

HONK! HONK!
My head jerked up as soon as I heard the loud horn. I looked around not remembering where I was. I then turned to Jungkook who was still resting on my shoulder. He seemed to have heard the horn and lifted his head up slightly.
I looked in front of me and saw a car. The driver in the opened the window and smiled warmly at us.
"Are you kids waiting for a taxi? I'm available at the moment. Tell me where you need to go." The taxi driver said.
I squinted my eyes to search for the sign that says taxi on the car just to make sure we were safe. After spotting the sign, I slightly tapped Jungkook on the shoulder. "Are you feeling better?" I asked. He nodded at my question.
I grabbed his wrist again and tried to make him stand to bring him inside the car. I opened the car door and made Jungkook enter. I followed behind before closing the car door.
"Where to?" Asked the driver.
I nudged Jungkooks arm making him look at me and then at the driver. He told him the way to his home as the driver started the car and drove off.
"What were you kids doing outside in the middle of the night? Aren't your parents worried?" Asked the driver.
"It was supposed to be a date," Jungkook said.
"Ah, I see. You two are a couple."
I widen my eyes a bit and looked at Jungkook who didn't seem to mind at all what the driver had said. Jungkook then turned to me with those eyes who seemed hurt and betrayed. I don't know how he must feel to have been standing in the rain for so long waiting for nobody.
"I'm sorry..." I mumbled.
I don't know how many times I had told him sorry, but I was going to keep on saying it to him until he forgives me.
I feel like this whole situation was my fault.

~Monday~
"I'm sorry!" I yelled bowing to him.
It was break time and I happened to find Jungkook in the hallways. The first thing I did when I spotted him was run up to him and bow.
"What are you sorry for?" he asked.
"You were drenched outside in the cold and I never came to help you. You never went on a date..."
"It's not your fault Bora never showed up. It's hers." He said before walking off.
I stared at him walking in the hallways thinking about what he just said.
He was right.
It was Bora's fault.
