Regret
Jungkook's P.O.V.
I was sitting inside the music room quietly as I listened to my music while humming the tune of the song. During this time, I would expect HeeJin to walk in with her guitar with a bright smile. But she wasn't here yet, so I waited. Each time she came by, she would play a short song or she would talk about all this lovey-dovey stuff I should do, but I obviously never listen. When she tries to explain something about love or about these different types of girls, it's like everything becomes a blur. Like as soon as her mouth opens, everything seems so gibberish. I just end up staring at her lips opening and closing as she talked.
It's kind of weird though. I don't understand a thing about her, but I just want to be around her more. I don't take time to listen to her boring love lessons. the times I actually understand her is when we have an actual conversation, which is a rare occasion.
I waited and waited for her to open that wooden door and enter with her bright smile, but she still wasn't here. I sighed thinking that maybe she might not come. I decided to wait longer and so, I closed my eyes and continued listening to my music.
I then heard a fade sound of the door creaking and a few steps. Thinking it was HeeJin, I smiled while opening my eyes. My smile turned upside down as soon as I realized it wasn't HeeJin.
It was that guy.
Namjoon.
I let out a sigh of annoyance and was about to stand up when he stopped me by showing me his hand to stop. I looked at him while he waved his hand down signaling me to sit back down.
"I need to talk to you,"
I sighed again and sat down. I unplugged myself from my earphones and stared at him as he grabbed another chair and placed it in front of me before seating himself on it.
We stared at each other without saying anything for a while. My eyes would wandered around as he did the same.
"If you aren't going to say anything, then I'll take my leave," I said as I stood up getting impatient.
"No. Wait." I sat back down as he said his words. "Did she tell you anything?" He asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Did she say anything about me?"
"She said you're the guy who left her for another girl. She told me you hurt her and that she was in pain for a long time." I directly responded.
He rolled his eyes. "Besides the negative things."
I thought for a while before opening my mouth again. "Because of you, she now helps others with their love lives. You breaking her heart caused her to help others."
He rolled his eyes again."Didn't ask I for the positive things?"
I snickered at what he said. "Helping others with love isn't positive?"
He didn't say anything and looked away. "You know what? Thank you." I said.
He turned his head to look at me again and let his eyebrows crash together in confusion. "What?" He asked.
"If you hadn't broken her heart in the first place, she wouldn't have become the person she is now. I probably wouldn't have met her if it wasn't for her obsession over helping other people with their love lives. She probably wouldn't have come to see that girl confess to me that day if she was still with you. So I thank you for doing such a stupid act and break up with her." I said with a light spark of anger in my eyes.
"Well, I regret it." He said.
"Well, you should," I said crossing my arms while leaning my back on the chair.
"What, now? She won't talk to me because she ignores me each time I try to approach her."
"Just don't talk to her." I simply said.
"What? Not talk to her?"
"If she doesn't want to speak with you, it's because she wants nothing to do with you," I said still with my arms crossed. "Why'd you even come here anyway?".
"I transferred here after I realized what I had done to HeeJin. When that girl and I, I spent a few months thinking about things. I soon realized how much HeeJin cared for me and how much she loved me, but I threw that all away for another girl. At first, I simply came back to earn her forgiveness but seeing her now, I don't know what I'm here for anymore."
I didn't say anything and stared at him looking down. From what I know, he is here out of regret. To me, he probably feels like being with her is what will make her forgive him.
"You lost your chance."
"Do you like her or something? Because you seem to really hate me." He asked
I didn't say anything. I thought of his question for a while and at this point, I don't even know the answer to that question anymore.
Footsteps were heard by the door, so we both turned our heads towards it. There stood HeeJin with her guitar case smiling at me. Her smile dropped just like mine did when I saw Namjoon. Her eyes averted from Namjoon to me and then repeated the same action a few times. She stayed quiet for a few seconds before turning around and walking away.
Namjoon immediately stood up and ran after her before grabbing her shoulder and turning her around. "I'm leaving, you can go inside now." He said before walking away from her.
Her back was facing me as I stared at her. She seemed to be staring at Namjoon who was walking away from her. Staring at her just made me think if she still thinks about him the same way Namjoon thinks about her now.
I know she told me she's completely over him, but sometimes I ask myself if that's actually true.
What if her heart still beats at the same rythme as his?
