Once they were a safe distance away from the island, Roman let out a relieved sigh. He was shaking, hugging himself as he tried to push the thoughts and the lingering feeling of De's lips on his own out of his mind.
"Hell yes! We got away from him!" Luis cheered, clasping he and Virgil's hands together as they smirked. "That asshole doesn't have anything on us!"
"He's still got that key, but that just gives us another reason to kick his ass! That's right!" the captain said, hugging his brother with a grin. The prince watched, feeling his chest constrict tightly with the panic he was trying to suppress. Shivering, he backed away from the crew that was gathering to celebrate their small victory and the return of an old crew member. He ducked into the ship's cabin, shaking as he moved to the bed where he curled up in an attempt to control himself. Virgil noticed his disappearance, pulling away from his embrace with his brother. "Hey, give me a few."
Luis nodded as he headed toward the cabin. Opening the door slowly, he blinked, adjusting to the dim lighting. "Princey? You in here?" he called quietly. He heard a quick shift, as if someone was flinching. Looking toward the noise, his eyes landed on the shaking prince in the corner. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm f-fine," Roman stammered in response, pushing himself even farther into the corner as the pirate approached him. "Go have f-fun with the crew, i-ignore me."
"Yeah, like I believe that," Virgil said, ignoring his comment as he moved across the room to his bed. As he did so, the prince pulled away from him. The captain's eyes widened, seeing the way he was shaking at the shimmer of tears on his cheeks before he looked away. "Whoa, what's going on? What happened?"
Roman pushed himself off of the bed, walking away from him as he snapped in response. "Nothing!" he exclaimed, voice shaky and not convincing at all. "Go away, Black!"
"Don't speak to me that way, your Highness," Virgil sneered in response as he crossed the room to follow him, anger flaring up in his chest. He spun him around by grabbing his arm, and moved to press him up against the cabin wall. Roman shivered, flinching as the recent memory of De's actions shot through his mind. "I don't tolerate being spoken to that way, especially when I'm just trying to help you. Stop acting like a royal brat and tell me what's going on."
The prince didn't say a word, more tears flowing down his face as he coward against the wall. The pirate's eyes widened as he took in his shaking form. He wasn't resisting him, but rather the opposite, like he'd given up as he squeezed his eyes shut.
"P-Princey, what the hell happened?" he whispered, removing his hands from either side of his head. Roman shook his head, feeling as though saying it would solidify that it happened. He hugged himself as he slid down the wall to raise his knees in front of his face. Sobs racked his body, making Virgil's chest constrict as he knelt down to him. "Hey, hey, talk to me, what happened?"
"L-Like you e-even care!" he snapped in response, trying to push him away. The pirate caught his hands, gripping them firm enough to make him look up. "G-Go away!"
He shook his head, squeezing his hands gently. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what happened and I'm sure you're okay," he said quietly, moving closer to sooth him with shushes and circles rubbed into his hand with his thumb. Roman shook his head, sobbing harder; it was clear he didn't care about his presence anymore. The captain moved forward, holding him through his breakdown.
"H-He k-kissed me!" the prince cried, making Virgil's eyes widened and fury flared up in his stomach. How dare he? How dare that snake touch him? "He kissed me! He was going to u-use me! I can still f-feel it- his hands and his l-lips- it wasn't like with you!"
