Hey there, pretty people! Hope you are having a great day, if not I hope it gets better! I decided to get two chapters done in school today! Eek! I'll be uploading Chapter 5 later, I'm still revising. Anyways, enjoy chap 4! :)
________________________________________________________________________________
All I saw was Carsyn start crying and run out of the room. I mean it was true, hasn't the rumors been true about her sleeping with every guy? So, why was she so upset by that, isn't that an accomplishment, I mean, I haven't slept with every girl, and now that I think about it, she has never slept with me... And I know she just wants to take me away from Lindsay, it's pretty obvious... All I catch is a glaring girl's face before suddenly I am punched in the face. "What the hell?!" I growl. "What the hell is wrong with you? She isn't any of that! And now, I don't know where the hell she is! She left the freaking school!" Huh, finally, hopefully she doesn't come back. "Oh, well, big deal, she'll probably show up at some point, hopefully dead if she does." "You need to get a grip, you dumbass! She really liked being friends with you, you know? You should've fought for it!" Bull. She didn't care that she ripped my heart out. Oh well, and so, I just get up and walk out.
I decide to just skip the rest of school, and head home. I blast my music at the top volume on my drive home, and turn it down as I pull into the driveway and head up our steps. As soon as I open the door, the smell of whiskey immediately greets me, telling me Dad has been drinking away his job recently. Sighing, I walk into the kitchen and get some water. I then head upstairs, and grab a pack of cigarettes and decide to take a walk or go to the store. Picking up my lighter and wallet, I head out.
I decide to go to the grocery store and pick up a few items while I'm here. As I walk by an aisle, I hear a loud grunt and see what is happening. It's Carsyn, and some guy, they seem to know each other. Although it seems he has a hard grip on her wrist, I walk away and continue shopping. After grabbing a couple bag of chips and a drink, I have a tight feeling that something was wrong with what was happening with Carsyn and the guy, so for some reason I head back to where they were. All that I see is the cart with items still in it, but skid marks from shoes dragging away through to the door. Um, okay then. I then check out and head home.
After putting away what I bought into the pantry, I head into the den and watch TV. Pulling out my phone, I realize I have lots of missed calls from Madi, how'd she get my number? A few from Lindsay, but less than the amount Madi did, and a text from Mum saying her and dad are on a business trip for a couple weeks, and that I should hang out with some friends. Great to know my parents care. I roll my eyes.
I decide to call Madi and see what's up, knowing she is just going to spew more venom about what I said earlier. Grunting, I dial Madi's number. "Noah?! Noah, have you seen Carsyn?!" Confused, "yeah, I just saw her at the grocery store, she was with some guy, they looked like they knew each other so I left her alone? Why?" "Oh no, well I went to look for her at the apartment she wasn't there, and her clothes were gone, all that was left was a note and her phone. Also, you said you saw her was a guy?!" "Oh, and yeah, it was a older guy, maybe mid-20's? Why?" "Can you describe him a bit more?" Still confused, "Uh, yeah, I guess? Um, well, he had shaggy brown hair, sweatpants, and a baggy hoodie. He looked to be maybe 6-foot?" "Shit, that's him, we need to call the police! Noah, come to my apartment, I'll text you my address, this is serious, now hurry the hell up!" "What? Wh-" The line goes dead.
Madi: 2778 McDarKnell Road apt. 33 suite A, hurry! Carsyn is in trouble.
I really don't feel like going, I don't really care about Carsyn anymore, so what's the point? And, who is this guy? Why does he sound like such a bad guy, to be honest, it looked like he was her boyfriend, except a bit older than her. But, why would she ever have a boyfriend anyways, I mean it's Carsyn. I roll my eyes. But, knowing Madi will be pissed at me if I don't go, and I don't want my ass kicked tomorrow, so I grab my keys and head out. I put in the address on my phone for directions and park in the closest parking spot I can find. I get out and head up, and knock on her door. The door swings open, and all I see is a disheveled Madi with a tear streaked face, she immediately runs into me and wraps her arms around me. Unprepared, I am stiff, but soon relax, and wrap my arms around her, knowing it's the right thing to do.
"Who is this guy?" She just shakes her head and somewhat glares at me, though it doesn't look as scary since she is weak right now. "J-just come in, I'll explain some." I nod, and I walk in. I take in the apartment, and look around then sit on the closest couch. Madi sits down next to me. I look at the coffee table and see the note and Carsyn's phone, I pick up the note first to read it.
"Hey, Madi. You don't need me, it's okay. I'm basically just taking up your space, I mean I can't even afford to pay you back for rent... I've left a few things that you gave me, though taking some of the clothes you bought, sorry. It's time for me to get out of your hair, and it seems everyone else's. So, I plan on going out and about wherever, I mean, school is my least of my cares. I just need to stay out of his way, you know who... I mean, everyone else wants me dead, so I'll just meander around for a bit, and if it gets worse, I don't know. Oh, well. I'd like to thank you unconditionally for the amount you have given me, even though I've yet to give anything back. But, don't worry, I'll find some way to give back, enclosed in the other envelope I'd included most of the cash I've received from working. Hey, and do me a favor and let Noah know, that I never wanted to leave him, but with everything I had going on, I had to let go, I still don't know if I deserve anything, not just from you, but in general. I mean all I am is the girl who no one wants, and is just like the dirt under your shoes. So, I'd like to apologize, I'm sorry I couldn't do this in person, or before for that matter. I'm sorry for tearing you apart, just know, I hope it was worth it, because you tore me apart too, worse than I had ever imagined... I just never had that type of courage, and I guess I never will to apologize. So, yeah. So long, I guess?
~ Carsyn"
Wow, I have no words to say. I just stand there, and stare at her phone, her letter, then at Madi. What had I done? I get up, and walk outside. Madi calls after me, but I keep walking, and punch the brick wall outside. "Shit!" I grunt, my knuckles are bruising and bleeding, I had back to Madi's apartment. She rolls her eyes at my knuckles, and hands me a warm wet cloth, "how did you know what I was doing?" "Seen it before, lots of guys do it when they're frustrated." I just nod. "So, what are we going to do, eh?" "Call the police, put in a missing person report, find Jacob, that's it." Confused, "who's Jacob?" All the sudden it comes back to me...
The times where Carsyn would come crying, bruises all over, I didn't know what was wrong, until I heard the incoherent mumbles, sort of sounding like a name. It was. It was Jacob. She would always tell me about how he would hurt her, tell her things, and threatened to kill her. I remember one specific day like the back of my hand...
She had came up to me, crying, like many other times, as I held her, I could hear her whimper what sounded like a name, "...J-J-Jacob, s-stop, please!" I just held her tightly, I would not make her speak unless she wanted too. We sat on the bench and just talked about what the clouds looked like. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep, and I smiled down on her... All the sudden I hear a roaring car, and a man gets out and runs over to me. "Give me my damn sister back! She's mine!" This must be him, he must be drunk too, since his words are slurring. "No, man, you freaking hurt her!" "That's bull, she's fine." Taken aback by the fact he didn't deny he had hurt her, " so you admit you hurt her?!" I snarl. "She deserved it, so no, I won't!" "Get lost, you douche! If I see your face again, I'll call the damn police, and report you!" This causes an impact on him, as he stumbles back, probably because of what I said and the fact he is half drunk. "Don't worry, little boy, I'll find a day to come back for you, and I'll take her back, she doesn't deserve you!" And, with that he took off with his car, not bothering to stay in his lane, almost causing many accidents, but others soon realize he is drunk and turns the other way. I pull Carsyn closer, and whisper into her hair "I won't let him hurt you, never."
Shit. I broke the promise, I let him hurt her.
