Chapter 14 - Noah's POV

The lights continued to flicker, the sound of our footsteps echoing down the hallway. My heart pounded in my chest. I knew I was weak, but not this weak. "So... what's the plan guys?" Jacob spoke up, causing us all to turn our heads. Our faces were full of confusion and anger, Carsyn exclaimed what the rest of us were thinking, in a very unpleasant way. "What plan? I thought you had a plan?!" Now it was Jacob's turn to be confused and annoyed. "Excuse me?! Little sister, I know I've been the light of your li-" I turned around to find out why he had stopped speaking and found a lovely sighting. The queen herself had her hands around his throat, wow. I didn't think she had it in her.

My eyes wandered, scanning the room for our other 'passenger' and our eyes finally met. His gaze darting between Carsyn and Jacob to me, as if asking for me to do something about it. "Hell no man. Princess got herself into that mess, she can, as she put it... do it all by herself. She doesn't need my help." I was quickly stopped in my tracks as she snaps her glare towards me. "One, call me princess again, I dare you. Two, you're right. I don't need your help." I went to call her princess one more time just to piss her off, but was interrupted by the screech of tires and light flooding in as a wall came crashing down beside us.

The cat fight also seemed to have stopped. "Jacob!" Everyone turned to look at the windshield of the car, the driver more specifically. Turning back to Jacob, his eyes lit up, while next to him, Carsyn- I mean, princess! Eyes were bulging out of her head. Ethan's face was etched with pure confusion. I don't blame him, I don't know who these people where, but I did have a slight sense of familiarity "Well I'll be damned, the best parents in the world, always coming in clutch." His parents..? How did they know he was here? Why would they even be coming here? To visit him? Wait, why would they be even visiting their son who is like, what? 30? "We called you a couple times, you didn't pick up, so we decided to just go ahead and come to you. Unfortunately, there were tons of cops and fire-trucks, all that in the way. Therefore, we took a slight detour, and ramped off the parking garage next door!" The lady across from us beamed at Jacob.

"So, here we are, ready to bring you home, son. I see you also had some friends visit you too, that's gre-" I noticed she stopped talking as her eyes met Carsyn's. "What is she doing here?" Oh, that's right! Jacob's parents means Carsyn's parents too, god, I'm such an idiot. "Oh, and you too! I remember you," their dad now motioning to me. I felt my face harden, man, I really hate this whole family. "Oh yeah, Nathaniel..? Right? I always liked you, why did you stop coming over?" Is this lady brainless or just a straight-up idiot?! Gritting my teeth, not minding my attitude in my voice, I replied, "It's Noah, actually... To answer your question, I stopped coming because I had no reason to come over anymore." Both of them narrowed their eyes at me then Carsyn.

After their staredown between us two, their eyes soon lit up as they met Ethan's eyes. Ew, who would be excited to see Ethan? "Now, who are you? Jacob hasn't mentioned you before, much less brought you over." Ethan jumped, startled by the mention of his name. "U-uh.. I'm. Er. Ethan." Sounding much like a robot, then proceded to awkwardly wave at them. "Nice to meet you! My name is Jenny, and this old man next to me is my husband, David. When did you meet our sweet son Jacob?" Motioning to Jacob as they mentioned his name. "I, uh, was at an um... a bar, and he offered to buy me a drink..?" Jenny and David shared surprised looks, as Jacob snickered, while Ethan's eyes filled with worry. "Our son... Offered you a drink?" Ethan nodded slowly, "Interesting... Our boy has never done that for anyone, minus us, of course. Well at least of our knowledge... You must be special, eh?" Now was my turn to be worried, they must know he's lying.

Jacob and his parents shared a knowing glance, sly-grins plastered on all three of their faces. Next thing I know, the lights shut off, and a cold gun barrel is pushed into the side of my head, causing me to instantly freeze. "Don't move, or I shoot." I turn my head slightly to the left and to the right, trying to use the natural light I have around me to see everything. I find out everyone except Jenny, David, and Jacob are being held at gunpoint. "I thought my parents and their gang were supposed to be here-" I accidentally wondered aloud, causing the masked man to knee my spine, triggering a groan from me. "You're parents are in an effing gang?!" Ethan exclaimed, making it his turn to be kneed. "Unh!" Ethan grunts loudly. "You guys should really shut up, unless you enjoy being kneed, in that case, by all means, continue speaking.." Jacob's tone was filled with complete and utter annoyance, "You guys are such fools and supreme idiots. I don't know why y'all think I would ever work or help you guys. You all walked straight into my trap..."
