Chapter 13

Noah's POV

Carsyn was being stupid. Trying to get us to work 'together' like it's some kind of fairytale! Might as well throw a little tea party while we're at it! "Are you hearing yourself, Carsyn? You sound like some princess who's trying to give peace to the land, and then lived happily ever after!" Some of my anger wasn't even just towards her, it was also me being annoyed we're trapped. I shouldn't have lashed out so much on her, but what I said was true.

I was just so mad at her and Ethan, it's like I'm jealous of them?! Hell no! I'm not jealous! Especially not of her. If anything, she should be jealous of me! For... I don't know why. Whatever, point is, I have no reason to be jealous over Carsyn. "So, the hell are we supposed to do now?" Ethan broke the well-needed silence with his stupid words. Ugh, If he could just shut up forever that would be nice. I just shrugged my shoulders and jerked Carsyn's arm, which she responded with a yelp, but I continued to move down the hallway, navigating through the empty hall, ignoring the yelling and stomping from the floor above.

Ethan let out a desperate sigh, letting us know he was already done with us from the very beginning, which is a-okay with me, I never wanted to even do anything with him in the first place. I just went looking for Carsyn, that's all I wanted to do, I didn't ask for him to and play 'Mister-Hero-Who-Saves-All...' I was supposed to be that for Carsyn, but Carsyn and I both messed that up. I know that what Carsyn did wasn't really her fault, as she tells me, but I can't help but think that she was being selfish in that scenario, like she says she was trying to protect me, but instead she hurt me!"Looks like you're stuck here too."

A voice echoed in one of the rooms behind us. I knew exactly who the voice belonged to... Jacob. How many damn times are we going to run into him?! "Well look what the cat dragged in... I thought I killed you, you little rat-" Carsyn jumped in front of me as soon as she heard his voice, "You leave us alone for God's sake, Jacob! I've been done with you from the start, but if you hurt Noah or Ethan, I won't hesitate to hurt you!" For a moment, I thought she wouldn't mention Ethan, which gave me hope that she didn't care about him, but that thought was crushed.. Ethan's eyes immediately looked up, and something in his eyes seemed to click for some reason. "You're that guy! That rando who hit Noah with a car!"

"And you're the guy who was with him, I should've hit you, as well, darn, now you're both alive. Fantastic, well how do you all suppose we get out of here?" He thinks we're going to work together? Who the hell does he think he is, he has tried to kill me, has hurt Carsyn, and so much more, why the heck would we work with him?! For the most part, I just wanted to punch him in the face with full-force.

I pretended not to hear him, but Carsyn chose not to do so. "Why would we work with you?" Jacob just stared blankly at her, then soon shrugged his shoulders, "Maybe because I'm your brother?" Ethan suddenly turned around and looked at the both of them with a confused look on his face, "Wait, Carsyn you said you didn't have any siblings." Carsyn's eyes widened, "I-Uh, I can explain!" Ethan's eyes were filled with hurt, but I was internally laughing, this was quite the situation she has got herself into. Jacob was also in a laughing fit. Which immediately snapped me back to my furious self. Jacob was a freakin' monster. He hurt the one person I care- I mean he hurt Carsyn in general, she's just my ex-friend. Totally. She hurt my feelings way too much to change my mind. I couldn't forgive her for that.

All too soon was this situation over, Ethan seemed to put on a stone-faced expression, hiding his pained expression. I turned to find Carsyn's eyes welling up with tears. God! Why does she cry so much?! Something in Carsyn finally snapped, she turned back to Jacob, "Why is it that anytime I want to go somewhere, you always show up! I'm sick and tired of you ruining my life! God!" Wow, I didn't know Carsyn had that power in her to shout at him. The Carsyn I knew was absolutely terrified of him, the Carsyn I knew would never have said that. It was like she finally decided 'enough was enough' but this just made it worse, because not only did I remember that Carsyn, Jacob did as well. Jacob constantly fed off her fear of him, but this sudden change, made him realize he wasn't the "big guy" right now, I could see it in him, as he trembled.
