Chapter 9 - Noah POV

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, I've been caught up in schoolwork, while having sports and writing at the same time, so I'm a bit far behind in schedule, but I'm working, I swear!! People have added my story to their reading list, whether just because, or if they actually want to read, I'm still thankful !! Anyhow, let's get on with chapter 9 :)

NOAH POV - Chapter 9

I barely completed my mission from the boss, he yelled at me profusely for almost blowing our cover, I couldn't help it, honestly. Carsyn kept coming into my head, I couldn't shake the image of Jacob hurting her, it was distracting me. After my consequence of almost exposing my gang, I head out to find Carsyn.

I just stare at the doctor in shock, she's in a coma?! That Ethan-guy must be thinking the same thing, since he is standing still in shock as well. Well, what do we do? "Did you call her parents?" Ethan questions. I bet they did, but her parents didn't bother to pick up, since it's Carsyn, but if it were Jacob... It makes me angry to this day, their behavior that is.

"Yes, sir, we did, they didn't respond with much, they just said to send the bill to an address." Huh, they actually answered, they are even going to pay the bill? What the hell? The doctor sets down his clipboard containing all info, to speak with Ethan. I take that as my chance to see what's wrong.

HBPM...Blah, blah blah...

Heady injury, direct hit on skull

Address: 2778 McDarKnell Road apt. 33 suite A

Wait, what? That's the apartment, not their house, they sent the bill for her to pay! What the hell?! Furious, I slam the clipboard down, causing people to stare at me. "Quit looking at me, mind your own damn business!" I sneer towards my "audience." The doctor heads over, great. "Mr. Bax, first, I'd like you to calm down-" "I won't fucking calm down! She's in a coma for damn's sake, and her family doesn't give a damn either!" I shout. "Mr Bax, you're causing a scene." I laugh, but not a normal laugh... "Does it look like I give a fuck?!"

Still furious, the doctor brings in people, who I don't recognize. "Who are-" Then I fall asleep? What?

I open my eyes, but immediately closing them after being greeted by the bright white lights. I groan. "Ah, you're awake now!" I hear someone say, I can't quite place who yet. I attempt to open my eyes once again, managing to do so. I turn to see ugly white walls... Hospital walls. Finally looking straight in front of me, I find the doctor. "Why am I here?" My voice is groggy and slurs from the sedation. Oh, sedation... That's why I'm here, right...

A look of disgust must cross my face after figuring it out, "I see you remember." I nod, still disgusted. "Well, you were incredibly angry, and were in no control, nor were you acting in a mature way. You were very immature towards me and the audience, it was quite interesting." I give a small apologetic smile. But the doctor just shakes his head towards me and walks away.

"Wait! What am I supposed to do? Can I leave?!" "Yep, you sure can! After the nurses finish unattaching you to stuff!" Doc shouts to me. I turn and grab the remote, and furiously spam the "call" button for the nurses. Finally, two nurses come in. "Sir, what would you like?" In no mood to be nice I respond, "get me out of this crap, doc said I could leave once you nurses got me unconnected to this crap." They keep smiling though, but I don't, I only frown.

You know how it supposedly takes more muscles to frown than to smile, I think it's the complete opposite for me, it hurts to even attempt a smile, but it's comfortable to frown. I smiled a hell of a lot whenever I still hung out with Carsyn, but after that, I gave up on caring on anything. Because, why care about anything, whenever the thing you cared most about left you?

Finally after what seemed like forever, they get all the cords and crap out of me. "There you go, sir! Have a good day!" I nod, and get out of this uncomfortable bed. I walk towards the front desk, trying to figure out what room Carsyn is in. "What room is Carsyn Jones in?" The receptionist types in what I believe is her name, then reading the room number. "Room 983, her family is in there right now, so I might wait." Confused and angry, her family?! I manage to mumble a thank you, and head to the elevator.

971, 973, 975, 977, 979, 981... 983! I decide not to knock and burst through the door, to find Ethan and Madi. No sign of her parents or brother, phew. Madi meets my eyes with worry etched through her whole face. I spoke too soon earlier, I hear the voices of people, I had dreamt of killing one day, the people ruining my happiness.

Carsyn's parents. I just stare at them, and they stare back, soon, I see the boy that hurt her most. Jacob, he is a brave coward. We make eye contact, and we just keep glaring at each other, and soon he grins an evil grin. Come on! "..So, as I was saying, we don't know when she'll wake up, or if she even well, the impact was pretty hard." Her parents just nod, nodding off.

I am so furious at the world right now, at myself, at her parents, at Jacob, at her! Ugh! I approached Jacob, "hello there, Noah." "Hello, Jacob! Nice to see you!" I sneer. "Oh, come on, just get to your point!" He looks amused, probably on how quickly I've discovered there is something behind it all.

"What point?" He smirks at me. "Don't play games with me, Jacob." He feigns innocence, "you did something, and now you want something. What do you want, Jacob?" I sneer. "Oh... That. I want her back, your check is fake, isn't it?" My eyes widen just a tad. "No, it's not." I lie through my gritted teeth. "Then why didn't it process through my account?" Er, Noah, think of something! "Your bank doesn't accept my checks?" It comes out more as a question rather than a statement.

Jacob just rolls his eyes, "yeah, right... I am taking her back still." At that point, he puts on a smile and turns back t0 the doctor. I take this as my chance to go and get Carsyn, to save her. I dash into her room, "Noah?" Carsyn's awake? And talking to Ethan? What? "We have to go, now." They both stare at me confused. "Why?" Her voice comes out like a squeak. "Jacob." Her eyes widen, realization hits, it seems. She starts trembling, I pick her up bridal style and dash out the door, Ethan trailing not too far behind.

Ignoring all the shouts, Ethan managing to catch up, we get in the car and head off. We drive back home, my parents still not being back, and slam the door behind me. It seems Carsyn is wide awake now, since she is staring right at me, taking in my features like she never has before. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." I try and crack a joke, which she gladly understands and laughs. "Who would want a picture of you" She rolls her eyes playfully.

I set her down on the couch, Ethan sitting on one of the love seats across from me. "So, now what?" Carsyn questions, wearily raising her eyebrows. "Carsyn, sleep for now, we don't need you worrying, it's bad for your health. We'll talk about it when you are awake and better." I give a smile, which she returns, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes.

Honestly, in Carsyn's eyes, I never took the time to notice that, it's pure sadness. Though she covers it with a slate over it, with "happiness." How I never noticed that before, amazes me, but I was probably too busy ignoring her all together to see it. Ugh.

To be honest, I'm sort of still angry with her, not only because of her ending our friendship but because she was by herself. Which is sort of my fault, but still, I'm frustrated by that. After sitting and looking at the wall for what seemed like forever, I hear movement, and turn to see Carsyn stirring. Then, she screams, it's a piercing scream, I plug my ears, and frantically move towards her, shaking her furiously.

"Wake up! Come on, Carsyn! Wake up!" I continue shaking her, soon hearing footsteps coming down the stairs. "No, Jacob! Get off of me! I don't want this, no, no!" Carsyn wails. Finally, I manage to shake her awake. She had another nightmare, again
