~Violet's POV~

I stood at my locker the next day in the early morning, putting books that I knew I wouldn't need into my locker. I reached inside my bag, pulling out a large textbook and shoving it inside my locker before I began attempting to zip my bag shut.

The zipper got stuck, though, and I sighed as I started yanking at the zipper. "Stupid thing." I mumbled angrily, pushing the zipper down before trying to yank it up again. Still, it got stuck at the same spot, causing me to narrow my eyes as I looked at it. "Just freaking close!" I hissed, repeatedly pushing the zipper down and pulling it up.

"Umm..." I heard someone mutter from behind me, and I jolted in surprise, managing to zip my bag finally. I swiveled around, my black backpack on backwards. I dropped the zipper, and sent the tall boy in front of me an innocent smile. I quickly put my backpack on my back instead of on my front, "Hi." I said awkwardly, waving lamely.

The boy was rather pale with a soft pink hair, decked out in all black, like me. "Uh, I'm Michael." He said quietly, and I noticed he had an Australian accent. I gave him a small smile, "Violet." I said, quickly slamming my locker shut. "Are you new?" I asked, though I knew he was. I'd never seen him, also he was Australian. It was evident he was new.

Michael nodded, "Yeah..I started today. I've got three other friends, but I don't know where they're at." He explained. I chewed the inside of my cheek, "Well, I can help you out if you want." I offered. He looked relieved, "Fuck, thanks." He breathed, before his cheeks turned a soft rosy color. "Sorry." He said, and I shook my head, waving my hand in dismissal. I took the schedule that he had in his grip, looking it over.

"Oh." I said, smiling. He had Mr. Alisandro for first period. "Okay, follow me." I began walking towards the back of the school, where all the classrooms were. Michael fell into step beside me and I could feel people staring at us, mainly him, as we walked past. I quickly showed him each hallway, as there was the 100, 200, and 300 hallways. "But, back here..." I began, leading him into the very back of the school and heading upstairs, "This is the 400 hallway." I said.

I lead him into Mr. Alisandro's room, "This is your first class." I said simply, and he went to turn on the light, but I quickly stopped his hand, pushing it down. "I wouldn't. Mr. Alisandro yells at people who turn on the light." I warned, and he raised a brow. I checked my phone and saw the bell was about to ring, so I handed Michael his schedule back.

"Well, bye." I smiled, turning around. "Wait!" He blurted suddenly, causing me to halt and turn to face him with a brow raised. Michael cleared his throat awkwardly, "Do you mind if I get your number?" He asked, looking a little nervous. I shrugged and held out my hand for his phone, quickly putting my number in once he gave me his phone.

The bell went off, causing me to jolt again. I quickly handed Michael his phone back, "Okay. I gotta go. Bye!" I called, jogging off down the stairs. "Bye!" He yelled.

I barely got into first period on time, the bell ringing a few seconds after I took my seat, huffing quietly. When the class ended, I made my way to Spanish, heading towards my seat the back of the class. I frowned in confusion when I saw someone was already sitting in my seat, but I didn't want to cause a scene, so I just took the seat next to it.

Mr. Alisandro kicked his legs up on his desk, the light from the hallway pouring into the classroom as people rushed past. I snuck a quick glance at the boy beside me, who I could tell would be tall when he stood up. His shoulders were broad, his long legs sprawled out beneath the desk with his ankles crossed. Mr. Alisandro suddenly turned on the light, causing me to squint my eyes at the sudden change in lighting.

When my eyes adjusted, I snuck another look at the boy. I hadn't seen him before. His dirty blonde hair was pretty long for a boy, or at least longer than any boy I'd been around, but it suited him really well. His lips were pink and plump, his jaw littered with stubble. He had quite the side profile, really.
