~Luke's POV~

I woke up to Violet sitting on my lap, softly shaking me awake as she leaned over me. I groaned in annoyance, covering my head with her pillow. "Not yet." I mumbled, pulling the pillow back as she tried to remove it from my head.

"It's time to get up!" She exclaimed, patting my chest. "It's nearly two PM." She informed me, but I still didn't move nor answer. She grumbled to herself, climbing off the bed and I heard the bathroom door shut and the shower turn on not long after. I sat up, checking the time on my phone to find that she was right.

I waited on her bed until she came sauntering out of the bathroom, her hair wet and in a different change of clothes than what she'd had on last night. Her face was freshly washed too, I could tell by the soft look to it. I watched her as she applied deodorant, knowing that she didn't know I was awake.

She turned around and her eyes drifted to look at me, a small smile slipping onto her face. "How long have you been awake? I thought you went back to sleep." She said, kneeling down beside the bed. I just looked at her for a moment, silent. "I didn't." I admitted, reaching out to lightly trace the line of her lips. I bit my cheek, knowing she didn't like to kiss when one, or both, of us had morning breath. "I'm gonna shower." I said suddenly, dropping my hand away from her and standing up.

She leaned back in surprise as I stood up, her hand quickly grabbing mine to stop me. She stood up in front of me, a concerned look on her face. "Are...Are you okay?" She frowned. I wanted to tell her that I loved her, I did. I was just a little too scared for that, so I didn't.

Instead I gave her a smile, briefly kissing her on the forehead as a second resort to kissing her mouth. "I'm great." I assured, and she hesitantly nodded, releasing my hand. I took a quick shower after brushing my teeth, as Cherry hadn't left a whole lot of hot water. I hadn't expected her to. She probably thought there'd be more by the time I was awake, not knowing I already was.

I put all my clothes on this time, something I almost never did before I left the bathroom after showering. I turned off the lights, heading into her room again. She was sat on her bed, her legs crossed as she read what looked like some John Green book. "Are you really reading John Green right now?" I asked, hoping she wasn't. She looked up at me, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Yes. Why?" She frowned, not understanding.

I tsked, shaking my head sadly. "I think we're gonna have to break up now." I said, obviously joking. Her jaw slacked a little, "Don't you give me any of that!" She huffed, seeming to clearly sense my judgement on her book choices. "It's not my fault you read cliche books." I shrugged, watching as she slammed her book closed. She suddenly grabbed it, chucking it in my direction. I dodged it, hearing it hit the wall behind me and fall loudly to the floor. I stared at her, fake shocked.

"You didn't just do that." I gasped, causing her lips to twitch up in amusement. "I did." She nodded, crossing her arms over her chest. I raised a brow, "Apologize." I said simply, looking at her expectantly. She just giggled lightly, shaking her head. I walked over to the side of the bed she sat on and she instantly began scrambling to get off, heading the other way.

I grabbed her ankle, flipping her onto her back and tugging her over to me. She squealed in surprise, her legs hanging off the edge of the bed as I climbed on top of her. She tried to push me away, a glint of happiness in her brown eyes as she grinned at me. "What are you doing?" She laughed, pushing at my chest. "You're mean to me." I pouted, lightly flicking her nose. "You should apologize." I nodded, waiting for her to say something.

"No, fair's fair. You did that thing with the sweater to me." She pointed out, shaking her head. I paused, before shrugging. "Okay, fair point." I agreed. I looked over at her as I moved off of her, laying down. "Christmas is in a few days, you know." I started, trying to hint for her to tell me what she wanted, which she didn't seem to catch onto because she just nodded.
