Chapter 14

After nearly two hours of walking and looking for a perfect dress , I'm begining to lose hope and I'm really considering wearing one of my old dresses , it's not like anyone will notice anyway .

Now I'm sitting on a chair in another shop with my head resting on the wall behind me while Emma looks for another dress for me , I don't know how she's so energetic , I mean after half an hour of walking my legs were killing me , and here she is after two hours , she's still standing and laughing and being as loud as ever .

" That's the one " Emma shouts and I wince covering my ears

" Can't you lower your voice for once ? "

She pouts " No , that'll never happen , now go and try this dress on "

I sigh and take the dress from her and walk in the fitting room , I take a look at the dress which is beautiful , the top half is white with no sleeves and the lower half is black and it is split to show some skin , I quickly try it on and look at myself in the mirror , a wide grin spreads on my face at the sight of the beautiful dress , it looks nice on me . Emma knocks on the door and I get out , she grins when she sees me

" That's definitely the one " she says

" Finally " I groan throwing my hands in the air

After taking off the dress and putting my clothes back on , we pay for the dresses and leave the shop , I let out a long sigh as we make our way to the café where the boys are , I look at Emma feeling like something is off with her

" What's bothering you ? " I ask

" It's about Edmund .... I like him a lot , and I know that he likes me back , but I don't know why he doesn't admit it " she sighs heavily

I smile to myself " Well , I'm sure that he likes you back , he cares for you , maybe he's just afraid you'd reject him or something "

Emma gives me a tight hug which soon gets interrupted by Adam

" Sorry to interrupt your moment , but Edmund here has been sleeping for an hour now and I'm dying of boredom "

Emma rolls her eyes " He's jealous "

Adam laughs mockingly and Emma slaps his arm

" Ow , what was that for ? " Adam frowns

Emma shrugs " I felt like doing it" she says and walks towards Edmund probably to wake him up

" I missed you " Adam says surprising me with a hug

" It's only been two hours " I say hugging him back , but when I touch his torso he winces visibly and I immediately pull back and frown

" What happened ? " I ask

He shakes his head " Later ... I'll tell you later "

I nod and we all start walking to the car , the car ride is silent and I spend it looking outside the window thinking of what could've possibly happened to Adam .

" Something's wrong ? " Emma asks

I shake my head " I honestly don't know "

She nods taking the hint that I don't want to talk and returns to whatever she was doing

" We're here " she shakes my shoulder gently getting my attention

I leave the car and smile slightly when I hear Ed and Emmas conversation

" I want to see the dress " Edmund whines for the billionth time and again Emma shakes her head sticking her tongue out at him

" God ... they're so immature "Adam rolls his eyes
